The Club at Frisco Farms
About
The Club at Frisco Farms (formerly known as Plantation Golf Club) was created for the average golfer -- it's a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the golf course isn't long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly driveable. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water. Two of The Club at Frisco Farms par-3 holes -- the 148-yard no. 7 and the 188-yard no. 17 -- each require players to carry water. Pace of play here is better than average because of the player-friendly layout.

It's okay, not bad
Smaller course in a subdivision but good prices can be found. Course condition is reasonable for the price.
Plays long, and narrow.
This course was quite wet today, so no run on the fairways. Cart path only due to rain in the a.m.
Play this course often and always a challenge. Always in good shape. Deceptive as to difficulty, must hit long, and lots of water hazards. Narrow fairways, you may hit a house or two. Interesting course design. 10 is a hoot, hit to the right, and you'll avoid water. 18, just get over the water off the tee.
Nice practice facility and clubhouse.
One of my favorite courses.
Sort out the 10th!!! In need of a Marshall
The course was in good condition for this time of year. Not enough bathrooms on the course for my liking and with the whole course on the back of someone’s yard it’s difficult to “take a knee”. We didn’t see a cart girl our whole round and unfortunately the same backed up delay issues on the 10th tee as usual.
Where are the marshal’s?????
Finished the first nine only To have groups jump in front of us on the turn! Never saw a Marshall or a cart girl!
Would play again
Course little water logged from rain. Front was less challenging than the back. Played from back tees, and lots of water in play. Will definitely play again. This may sound crazy but, good cart paths seem to me to usually means the course is maintained and in good shape. The cart paths here were excellent.
Good Course Layout with Wide Fairways but Enough Water to keep you Interesred
Played course for the first time on a cold Fall day so not crowded. The course winds through a housing development and is fairly flat but it has just enough water to keep you interested and the course was in great shape for the time of the year. Will definitely go back!
Houses everywhere
First time to play this course, so I was quite surprised to see that each hole has houses that line every fairway. Being a muni-course this is pretty rare to see. The course had some challenges other than trying to keep it in the fairway. Lots of trees to contend with and there are about 4 holes that will require an iron off the tee box to avoid driving your ball too far into the hazards. Down side on this Day were the on course restrooms were closed for some reason. Most likely due to heavy rains over the past 2 months. Overall decent track and will play again with friends.
Fun course
Greens roll smooth and true to be so late in the season and with all the rain they has fallen. It’s a fun course to play when looking for something different. Multiple par 4s that take driver out of your hand.
Great Couse for the money
This is a fair fun course. It was a bit wet and an older course but fun to play with several challenging holes. I will be back
Fun, Challenging layout
Fun layout through subdivisions. Staff was great. Club selection and tee shot placement important on a number of holes. Fairways and greens in great shape, but rough was a bit long. Best to keep balls in fairways.........could not easily find balls just missing fairways. Would definitely recommend playing the Plantation.
Poor Customer Service
Labor Day '18. Showed up at 630am for our 7:03 tee time. As we stood at the club house check in counter, the club pro walked by us, about three times, never said a word to us. We stood there until 7am when he informed us that they don't give out cart keys until then due to a city ordinance. Fine...just explain what is going on! Then he acted like he was doing us a favor by allowing us to pay him to play his course. It was an awful start. So we tee off 15 minutes late, no chance to warm up. Could have slept in. Then about 8 holes in the marshal comes and tells us we are off pace from our tee time. Not smart. We finished in 4:10. Not bad for a foursome who had only played there once before. We liked the course but won't return until they educate the little man that we the customer pays his salary.
Headed in the wrong direction
This course has been a great find for the money and course conditions for a long time. The last few times I’ve been there (including today) I’ve noticed a decline. Water logged fairway and soggy greens and fringe area around the greens. Balls plug and yours shoes and clubs get mud caked seems like every two or three holes. Tighten it up please, hate to see an oldie but goodie decline for no reason.
Totally Disappointed!
I was on business travel. Booked a tee time at 6:00 PM for myself and colleague at 7:15 AM the following morning. We drove 20 miles to the Planation Golf Club from our hotel, only to be told at the pro shop they were not honoring our tee time and that GOLFNOW should have called me.
I checked my phone and found that GOLFNOW emailed me a cancellation 8 minutes before we arrived at the course. So not only was I embarrassed but I had to find a way to spend 6 hours be for my flight.
I won’t be using GOLFNOW again to book my tee times nor will I visit the Plantation Golf Club in Plano Texas again.
This course will waste your time (and money)
Pace of play is horrendous. Waited 10 minutes in between each hole. Had to leave after 9 it was so bad.
Nice course
Enjoyed my round of golf. Very few people out and in good shape. Staff wasn't very friendly, but not rude.
Enjoyed the course
Pictures on the web make it look like the course is wide open. It's not. It's an older course, but very well maintained. Very much a course in the middle of a housing development. However, challenging in places. For short hitters like me, the par 4's are reachable; the par 3's are often over water, making them challenging. I enjoyed this course and will definitely plan to return.
