The Club at Frisco Farms (formerly known as Plantation Golf Club) was created for the average golfer -- it's a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the golf course isn't long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly driveable. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water. Two of The Club at Frisco Farms par-3 holes -- the 148-yard no. 7 and the 188-yard no. 17 -- each require players to carry water. Pace of play here is better than average because of the player-friendly layout.

This course will waste your time (and money)

Pace of play is horrendous. Waited 10 minutes in between each hole. Had to leave after 9 it was so bad.

Nice course

Enjoyed my round of golf. Very few people out and in good shape. Staff wasn't very friendly, but not rude.

Enjoyed the course

Pictures on the web make it look like the course is wide open. It's not. It's an older course, but very well maintained. Very much a course in the middle of a housing development. However, challenging in places. For short hitters like me, the par 4's are reachable; the par 3's are often over water, making them challenging. I enjoyed this course and will definitely plan to return.

Trust Me

This is a very enjoyable course. There are holes to use the big stick and also short par fours that require accuracy off the tee and on the approach shot. The greens are in excellent shape. Remember, that at Plantation the greens don't move as much as you may read them.....until the ball slows down.

All but one of the tee boxes is ingoid shape. That would be the par three number 13. It's almost always chewed up. I didn't find a single tight lie in the fairways - very nice. Wasn't in a bunker so can't speak to that this round. But usually, the bunker maintenance is the weak spot of Plantation.

Good Course

The course was in good shape however the pace of play was terrible. Each tee box was around a 5-7 minute wait. There were no staff on the course to spend anyone up.

Good Overall Course

Second time playing - had a threesome - almost no wait.. starter told me to go off early - got to tee and no one there -played off and we finished in 3:15. - we barely waited - great pace...conditions good - greens firm - yes, the tee boxes are somewhat hard to put tee in the ground but i managed ok - not a big deal to me.. I am pleased and will definitely come back - one of my preferred courses

Great course. Slow pace today

We loved the course but found our tee time booked behind a foursome, a single, a single, and a couple. The pace of play ahead of us because of the two singles not being paired up had us waiting a few minutes at each hole to be able to tee off. The course was in good condition and the play ended being a good time overall.

Value play

As always, this course is consistent and one of the top values in DFW. Overnight rains left it a little damp, but not soggy. Greens a little slow, but rolled true.

Bad greens, extremely slow, pace of play 5:30

This course always have the greens in good shape, in the last month and half the greens have been really slow, they are long, and is almost like the fairway. You have to hammer the ball, they had some kind of mens league but they don't have a marshall and they don't want to tell them to play fast because they don't want to offend them so you will play for more than 5 hours.

Coordination

The attendant tried to charge me $36.00 and claimed that the golf now app anly charged a small fee. I showed him my receipt and he was confused but did comp the round in his system. He was very helpful. Then he said i was 2 hours early and would have to wait till 3:52 for my tee time. I again showed him my booking and the tee time of 1:45. It did not show in his system. I was allowed to tee off at 1:52.

Short, fair, slow greens

I enjoy playing Plantation. The course is short, but if you play it from the Blues, it's still a decent test. I love #5, #9 and #18. I hate #4 and dislike that the short Par 4's offer no option of going for the green off the tee. The thing that bothered me most this round was the slowness of the greens. They were really "hairy," grainy and even slower than usual. Cut 'em down just a bit and get 'em rolling a little more quickly.

Some challenging holes - course is in great shape

Playing the course for the first time, I chose to play the white tees over playing the red tees (109 slope for the women). There were some challenging tee shots on 3 or four of the holes (for ladies), with long water carries, a bit scary, but very rewarding and fun. The course was in great condition, greens were nice. Lots of water and some interesting holes. I'll definitely play this course again. Staff was exceptional.

Gray is Sonetimes Black

I love this course! Greens were excellent. Bunkers well maintained. Fairways smooth with very few tight lies. There are holes for the bombers and holes for the thinkers. BUT, the gray water they use to irrigate can stink to high heaven. DON'T step in it., or your partner will be making you walk.

Love the course but fix the tee boxes

I love this course. It has short par 4’s and long par 4’s and the types of holes that you can’t hit driver or 3 wood off the tee. However, some of the tee boxes are slanted (so the ball is above or below your feet on the tee box) or they’re just beat up, otherwise I’d give this course a five.

Bye bye

Bye bye Plantation. Course has super slow pace of play, poor fairway conditions, and the course is constantly under water from storms or course irrigation system. Darn shame but Im done. Now looking for new course to play in frisco area as im done with plantation. So sad. :(
