The Club at Frisco Farms
About
The Club at Frisco Farms (formerly known as Plantation Golf Club) was created for the average golfer -- it's a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the golf course isn't long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly driveable. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water. Two of The Club at Frisco Farms par-3 holes -- the 148-yard no. 7 and the 188-yard no. 17 -- each require players to carry water. Pace of play here is better than average because of the player-friendly layout.

Same ole
Same problems that typically plague this course. The slow play continues. It was a Monday and our round of golf took 4 hours and fifty two minutes!!! And now the course conditions are going down hill! Fairways parched, rough needs mowing and greens were missing grass in places. The staff is incredible but the grounds crew must be lousy and the course needs a marshall seven days a week. This was one of my favorite tracks but they refuse to deal with slow play issues so Im gonna take my business and my game elsewhere. Sure hope this place can get their act together. Great layout and friendly staff could make this one of dfws best. BUT THEY GOT TO FIX THE SLOW PLAY!!! 4 hours and fifty two minutes on a Monday is nuts!!!
NO More GPS!!!!!
This used to be one of my FAVORITE courses to play...But when I went last weekend I learned (the hard way) they had REMOVED all of their GPS systems from every cart! This course is a little challenging and the GPS REALLY made the difference - judging distances, spotting hidden water hazards, and keeping score....VERY disappointed! Will NOT be back no matter HOW cheap!
Good Shape
Plantation is in very good shape right now. My only complaint is there wasn't a cart girl. On these hot days they need to have at least one out there or tell you so when u check in. I had to go in on the 7th hole to get us drinks & ice. Otherwise the round was great.
Very good
Very good golf course. Golf cards has big screen GPS and they are electric ( I don't like gas powered golf cards). Layout is good with a few tough holes where water comes in place. Greens are good and fast. Need some improvements on tee boxes.
6 hour round
No rangers on the course, get ready for a 6 hour round. Pace of play is not enforced and therefore the course attracts hackers that play slow. Was stuck at the second hole behind 1 group teeing off, one waiting behind them, then us. Played through a couple of groups only to get stuck again behind a 2 some.
Maintenance was pretty good despite being a hackers course.
Your handicap is a 19..... You're one of them bud
Greedy management
Course was wet because of the rain the day before. I wasn't expecting great conditions, but I wanted to play. By the time we were on the 8th hole, a thunderstorm was coming, a lot of lightning and getting close to us, no worth the risk of playing. We went to the pro shop, asked for a raincheck for the back nine, and I was told by the guy of the pro shop that all he could give me was $2.00 back. I said I don't want money, just a raincheck to play the back nine some other day, and he said he couldn't do it because corporate wouldn't let him do it. I asked way and he said because that was the rate of 9 holes , I said I didn't pay a 9 hole rate, just give me a raincheck for the other 9 holes, he said he could, so I guess for corporate is better if you get killed by a lightning in the middle of the golf course than giving you a raincheck.
Arcis management, I guess that's how you make money, I won't be back there.
Also a lot of beginners playing, and that's okay, but you need a marshal to explain them some of the golf etiquette, and keep the pace moving. That's something you never see there.
fairways decent, greens were good, tee boxes were awful.
Stress-free golf
The Bermuda greens in the area are starting to come out. This is true of Plantation. They're slow, but they're free of poa and thin patches. The fairways are tight. If you like a little cushion under the ball, aim for the rough. The course doesn't demand much in terms of shot-making, and it has too many short par 4's. However, it's still a fun round of golf.
Great Value for the price
The recent rain had the course in great shape, except for a few muddy spots around the course. The range is closed on Tuesday mornings until 1pm so I didn't get to warm up before the round. There was no concession cart either, but the course looked good and the greens were in great shape.
Great Value for Money
I was committed to playing golf today either by myself or with someone and for under $20 with a cart. Golf Now app was under $20 for a 1252 tee time. It was close to the house so that's a plus. Driving range closed, that's a minus. Course layout is through houses the entire time and sometimes you wonder where you go next but I got over that quick. I'm not going to say the greens were spectacular, but compared to most courses around here they were amazing. You could at least hit a shot and stop your ball on the green and putts were pretty true. Greens weren't covered in sand like most around here. Fairways were in good shape too. It rained this past week so it was cart path only. That kind of sucked because the cart had GPS yardage. It was an easier course but me me, around a 25 handicapper, it was perfect. Once the course dries up a little I will definitely be back. Especially for under $20. I feel like that was a steal.
Good course; not as narrow as people say
First of all, I can see how this course may appear to be narrow with houses lining the holes but usually there are good lines for you to hit tee shots over. I found myself struggling more with water hazards wrapped around greens more than with houses (didn't go into the houses once, which I can't say for the water).
Pretty good course. Challenges you even though it's not super long from the back tees. Conditions were good not amazing. Some of the tee boxes could use some work. Only complaint is that starting at 7:00am on a Saturday, the green keepers started mowing the greens and punching out new pin positions as we started and were waiting for the first 4 holes because they got a late start. Even though no one was pushing behind us they still held us up and were very unfriendly when we tried to lay up short of the greens even though there was no chance of hitting them. Also they could use some signage around the course. With all the houses it's hard to keep on track from hole to hole.
Done complaining. Really enjoyed the course and this is one of the few courses in the area with GPS carts which is a tremendous help
Great course
The course and greens are fantastic but the tee boxes are needing some help. Greens are one of the best around the area.
from the blues, it has it's fair share of easy and challenging holes. course was in very nice condition, greens rolled true
Bummer
Love this course, but pace of play continues to be a problem and now the greens are in terrible shape. Patchy, and inconsistent. No two greens had the same speed and the ball hops rather than rolls which throws putts off line. This course needs some tlc or its gonna be the worlds busiest goat farm.
Will be back!
Short course but will definitely make you think about your next shot. It was packed when we went and still played at a decent pace.

More and more courses are doing away with them as they can save upwards of $100k per year and most people have the personal systems now. I would rather they take them out than charge more for an amenity I am already wearing on my belt.
