The Club at Frisco Farms
About
The Club at Frisco Farms (formerly known as Plantation Golf Club) was created for the average golfer -- it's a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the golf course isn't long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly driveable. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water. Two of The Club at Frisco Farms par-3 holes -- the 148-yard no. 7 and the 188-yard no. 17 -- each require players to carry water. Pace of play here is better than average because of the player-friendly layout.

Boring Neighborhood Course
Yet another through the neighborhood course in dormant condition. Pace of play 4 1/2 hours with wait on almost every hole. Tee boxes very poor w most not offering a level stance. Greens soaked and soft so no roll-up and very difficult chipping conditions. Almost NO grass on fairways. Water in front of several greens , all shallow, so no fun for beginner or woman unable to flight ball high. Poor signage on tees combined with poor quality images on scorecard make hazards hard to see.
A nice course with lots of water
Plantation is a nice course with interesting holes and lots of water ! The GPS system on the carts are really helpful with superb graphics. The staff is very friendly and appear to truly appreciate your business. The conditions were good for the month of February..
Very fun course
We played on a Sunday when they were having a scramble, the course was very busy and the pace was a little slow, not too bad though . The course was in great shape and all the staff was very friendly, will play this course again soon.
Adding this course to my rotation
I look for good play at an affordable price when it comes to golf courses and Plantation had that. It was challenging enough at my level (bogey golf) bit not too crazy and the price was right. I'll be adding this course to my rotation of regulars for sure.
Enjoyable.
Enjoyable round. Cart-girl available in a timely manner. A coarse marshall might have helped the pace of play at times.
Great course, great value
This course is in great shape and the greens are as well. Thanks to golf now I got to play on a Sunday morning, under 4 hrs. I don't have anything negative to say.
Great for junior golfers
I appreciate this course's attention to junior golf. My son is learning and it was greatly appreciated that they do not charge for up and coming golfers after a certain time. When so many courses charge and especially on weekends, it was nice not to have to pay for my son and let him get some quality golf in.
This course is great!
After a slow start, we had a great time! This is a course that you have to play the course! Very well maintained. The greens were fast and even faster once they dried up a little. The GPS in the carts were a life saver on lay up holes!
The price keeps me coming back
Tee boxes are bare and terribly uneven. Sand traps are dirt. Has a few challenging holes and is cheap to play, so I keep going back.
Greens rough
Course was in good condition with the exception of the greens - recently punched. Pace of play was vey slow.
Plantation in Frisco
First time play on the Plantation. It was a surprisingly well maintained course. It is bounded by many homes and has appreciable water and trees throughout the course.
The fairways were well maintained. With access to water, you can tell they use it to their advantage. Your "worm burners" will not travel far on their lush fairways. The course is narrow in places, but one can use a driver on most all par 4 and 5 holes, if you hit the open spots. The backside begins with some challenging water shots. The course offers you ways to avoid some of the open water as lay ups on some holes is a safe strategy for par golf.
It was disappointing that the greens had been sanded the day we played. Would like to go back and play the course when the greens are without sand. You can tell the greens are in good shape for this hot, dry time of year. Will definitely play the course again.
A lot of water.
Let me begin by stating I write as a duffer more than a golfer. I have always enjoyed playing Plantation Resort--except the excessive number of water hazards. The grounds are well-maintained, especially the greens.
My negatives, however, concern the failure of the staff to answer the phone number posted on the website and the difficulty i experienced using the site to schedule a tee time.
Not a great way to spend the afternoon
I know the course well. I was disappointed by the lack of Marshall presence and the lack of enforcement of the dress code. Call me old fashioned but seeing guys playing in tank tops isn't good for any golf course.
Great value. Course ammenities were excellent!
As a novice golfer, this was a challenging course. The price was great and the GPS in the cart helped tremendously with club choice. The course was well manicured and the overall experience was excellent!
Fun course, if you have the time...
Plantation is always extremely well maintained and fun to play. The staff is excellent and super friendly. However, this course always seems to be backed up heavily. It's always between holes 2 thru 7. I don't know if they are overbooking or if they just don't space players properly, but it can really throw you off your rhythm. The Marshall seems to be encouraging faster play, but some golfers just don't get it. Certainly a must play course, but plan to invest some time.
Golfing in NORTH TEXAS
I don't care where you play. But late spring and early summer is prime time golf in North Texas. As long, and I mean as long, as we are getting our share of rain. This golf course along with others are in prime shape right now. Enough rain and sun light to grow rich, lush grass, and beautiful greens. Plantation is great golf for the average to beginner players. Great VALUE for your BUCK! GO PLAY
Painful pace of play, fun course
This was my first time actually playing at the infamous Plantation course. The pros of the course were the layout, conditions off the tee boxes, and the greens played in a semi-challenging way. They ran much faster, and the breaks were not as harsh as you would think on several holes. The cons...it took us 3 hours to play 9 holes on Saturday 5/11. The Marshalls were present and tried to keep the play moving forward, but there was no such luck. After #4, we lost on average of 10 minutes of "pace time" per hole. By the end of 9, we simply did not have time to finish the round due to other commitments. I'd recommend this course on a weekday, but avoid it on the weekend.
Good track but not Great
This is a nice track that offers many different looks. Not overly difficult but requires you to pick your placement on many holes. Greens were a bit too sandy and inconsistent for my liking. Overall not a bad course to work on your game.
