Terrible
No clubhouse due to fire, should disclose this when booking. Not worth the full price they usually charge, course conditions were rough.
Decent place for price.
No clubhouse. So don’t expect food and drink at the turn.
Not enough carts, overbooked tee times, poor conditions, VERY hard and fast greens
Everything was bad…
1. Overbooked tee times and hour delays from scheduled times
2. Not enough carts for tee times booked
3. Useless starter didn’t control pace of play
4. Greens were unkept, hard and inconsistent
1 hour behind
There was a frost delay, which meant that I didn’t get in 18 holes before the sun went down. The course was in “winter” shape. I still love this course though and will continue to play.
Backed up for more than an hour…
Frost delays backed up the tee times for over an hour. On top of that, the clubhouse was burnt down so there was little to no staff running the place. Any “good” carts were sparse and the entire place needs an overhaul.
Refund request
Hello,
Duck creek seemed to have a kitchen fire or something. The course was shut down and the clubhouse destroyed. I was not able to play there. Golf now should not have them listed on the site. I’d appreciate a refund for the tee time booking.
Do not go
I showed up to the course and there were about 6 people waiting around. I found out that they were waiting on golf carts because they were all being used. I had to wait 30 minutes for a cart and was already pressed for time to beat it getting dark. Finally got on and the play was horribly slow. No marshal or anyone on the course. There was a huge bunch up on the par 3 10th and someone wanting us to give money to try and get a hole in one which slowed things down even more. Par 5 on 11 which is a horrible design for pace of play. I quit on 12 after 3.5 hours trying to get through a round. Very disappointing.
Had higher hopes, but no...
I like to give the benefit of the doubt and decided to try this place out despite the poor reviews.
The highlight was the guy in the pro shop who checked me in. He was super friendly and talkative. Both of which are sometimes missing from the more posh courses as they kind of look down their nose at you.
Then came the play...I pared the first hole and it was down hill from there.
The course conditions seemed inconsistent from decently maintained holes to some that needed more love and attention.
My biggest issue was how fast the greens were. I mean Usain Bolt running to the bathroom after some bad tex-mex fast! I had one hole where every shot I took just rolled off the other side. It was comical to say they least. I actually gave up on that hole and just went to the next one.
I also lost a few balls in the wide open. Still not sure how but I think some of it could be chocked up to leaves and then on one hole, tons of white rocks and exposed earth under some trees making it hard to ID my ball.
Navigation from hole to hole could have been clearer in a few spots. There was also this one hole that I was certain I was playing on the right fairway until the next hole when I was going back the opposite direction, saw someone else playing and realized I had played the whrong fairway and green. lol
I hate to leave bad reviews but this place just left me wanting more. It has so much potential that has yet to be realized.
Good value
Course was in good shape. Pace of play was good overall except for a fivesome. Could have used an occasional ball washer.
Great Golf Course
Perfect Day for a round of golf. Staff is very helpful and check in is easy. Other golfers are courteous as well. Course has some challenges which keeps me coming back. 18th hole is the best hole.
Best deal anywhere
I’ve played this course from three months ago and pretty much played once or twice every week. I never play on weekends, so these reviews are for weekdays only. It’s very low priced but course is maintained well. The greens especially are very nice and true on the fast side. Course layout is at first glance plain and flat. We’ll everything is flat in Texas, but there’re subtle nuisance in several holes where it’s best not to tee off with driver, because the course turns quite abruptly. Took me a few rounds to realize it’s safest to tee off with a hybrid for some holes. Staffs are friendly and amenities ok. Restrooms are clean, carts are new gas powered, really nice. It has lower ratings in the past but I’d say it’s one f the better managed course around the atra
Good value for the money.
Greens are actually pretty fast and roll well. Fairways, greens and immediate rough are well kept. Lots of dry spots or hard pan under shaded areas and near water. Overall it's a fun course. Not long but you have to select your poison navigating the course
