Considering the drought conditions, the course was in reasonably good shape. Greens were in good condition and rolling true. Tee boxes were a mess; extremely hard, which was to be expected, but also hard to find a level area to tee the ball. Interesting layout. Carts in great condition. Probably will play again when the course has a chance to recover from lack of rain.
Just a good average course
Ok so it’s been hot in Texas in July. So totally understandable that the course was burnt out. The greens were in great shape though.. there could be a little more up keep, but for the price it was forgivable. All around just nice to get out and play golf.
Not that bad
Let’s be real, it’s decent for what it is. Keep expectations low and enjoy a cheap round. The greens are in good shape, fairways and tee boxes not so much. It’s an old course that was unused for a long time so it could definitely be worse.
Nice place for golf
Second time golfing here. A nice place for a last minute tee time. Very manageable course which helped me shoot one of my better scores.
Upkeep
Greens, hole signs ,clubhouse Needs more up keep , golf carts are great . Staff is very nice
Greens were in very good condition and nice gas golf carts
At the time I did play we had almos two months without rain and temp over 100, and the greens were in perfect conditions, in the other hand fairways and tee boxes were ok, bit understandable due to the extreme conditions. I almost missed this golf course due to some bad reviews, so far I played it twice and both of them were a very good experience for me. I just hope players value the golf course and the effort they are putting on it.
I liked it
I enjoyed the course. We went off as 3some at 7:35 on a Friday morning, played in under 4 hours and even spent some time looking for wayward shots. The greens are in great shape. Fairways are dry but, of course they are in July in Texas. First time out can be tricky, lots of creeks and ponds and houses so looking forward to second time around. Green to tee is a bit tricky in spots but pro shop was helpful letting us know where we might get confused. Staff was very friendly, carts are brand new and while not a long course from the back tees it has a good mix of holes and challenges. I am looking forward to going back there. Was able to get an early Friday time on Thursday and it is a good value.
Hackers Paradise - go elsewhere
I’m all for muni golf and growing the game. But, wow, this place is bad. Nearly 3 hours for the front 9! Watched guys in front of us take 8-9 min on every hole. At what point do you not pick up and realize you’re slowing down pace of play. Ok, maybe these guys just did not know etiquette… yet, I saw Marshall’s riding around and never saying a word to speed things up. Absolutely ridiculously slow pace of play.
Speaking of hackers, felt like sprayed shots came coming towards our tee box on different holes. Poorly laid out course.
Course conditions? Yikes. You needed a hammer to put a tee into the ground on every tee box, if you could find a patch of grass on it. Fairways had some bare spots and were hardpan for the most part. I will say, greens were in solid condition, probably because so many hackers play here and never hit the green - thus, not needing to fix their pitch marks. LOL
Not a long course at all from the back. Easily scorable.
Plenty of other courses in DFW. I was desperate for a last minute time and came here. Plenty of courses that are relatively the same price and a much better play. Even if you have to pay a little more, it’s worth it than playing here.
Early round at Duck Creek
We teed off at 7:08 AM . Eyes barely open.
Fairways are hard now due to no rain for 2 months..
The Greens were the best we've played on this year..
The carts are new and very nice.
Golfers need to consider this course, since so many of the courses are overrun by golfers early in the morning.
Looking forward to another round there next week.
Decent course
Course and greens in good condition, had some folks in front of us that drove over a green in a cart, uncool!!! Otherwise good round!
