Fun as always
This course is always fun and usually relaxed. Just be aware of a lot of group that play at a slower pace. Staff is always nice and considerate, which is always a plus.
Priced about right
Even with a countywide shelter-in-place order in effect due to the coronavirus, Duck Creek is open for play, which makes it quite popular.
Green fee for walking 18 at 2:30 pm was $23, which was about right considering the mediocre condition of the course.
Pace of f play was excruciatingly slow, at nearly 5 hours. On the 17th tee box, there were 7 foursomes stacked up between the 17th tee box and the 18th green. It took nearly 45 minutes to play those 2 holes. It was so bad that 2 players gave up and quit when they saw the situation on the 17th tee box.
I generally play this course once or twice a year. The layout is okay. It is flat, which makes it easy to walk, but fairly spread out because it winds through a residential neighborhood.
The club began life as a planned community country club, went out of business, and was resurrected as a low-end, low-maintenance, low-price daily fee club.
At other times of the day, pricing goes up to the $30 - $40+ range, which is a little high for the quality of the course.
Hoping it gets better
Really enjoyed the layout. The course was soaking wet and the tee boxes were a disaster. It was hard to find a fairway since the grass was all the same. They just got new management so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully, in a few months, they can get it in better shape.
The gentleman at the bar was very friendly and helpful.
Work in progress
This course is under new management so taking shots wouldn't be fair. They have had a flood here recently and there is so much garbage caught up in all the brush and and water, it is a bad look. The course has also not recovered yet as the greens are spotty different speeds. It is not a bad layout, just needs some tlc.
Improvement
Have boycotted The Duck for more than 2 years because of the management. New and friendly staff. They’ve reduced the green fees to a more reasonable price. I’m going back.
Gorgeous day for golf but tons of groups.
Great day to play. The front 9 took a long time to play due to multiple big groups, so it is hard to find any rhythm. But the back 9 was smooth sailing with with hardly no delays.
Duck Creek - NO
I would not play this course again. The course is confusing to get around, little or no signage. They have gas carts, no GPS, and no USB ports. It could be a very nice course if they would take the effort to fix it up.
Fast pace play
Given winter and the grass being dormant, the greens were in good shape. The ball rolled nicely.
Good basic coirse
This is solid basic course. Course is in good shape. Greens a little fast. Staff is friendly.
Needs improvement
Course has been neglected Ted but is currently under new management.. with proper attention over the winter course might be in great shape next spring
Affordable golf without expectations
Just as my title states, do not expect spongy fairways with hills or pristine greens. Fun thinky course, that is if you play it from where it’s expected to play and not a white tee cheater. On 18, you can lose a couple of sleeves by playing a draw as it entices one to do. 17 is either a super fun 189 yard hole into a hurting sideways wind with a 5 hybrid or a boring 150 yard 8 iron from the cheaters tee. The course lays out for a fun every club in the bag outing if you play from the tips. Otherwise it will be the typical drive to pitch from the cheater whites
Worth the $14 to $16 deal. I’ll be back as long as the price stays low. Very flat but interesting pretty layout
I had a bad day with frozen fingers playing in the bitter cold
I’m sure if the weather was better.....
Weeds in greens
We will never be back. After scooping this up on a hot deal via the golf now app, it was made clear on arrival this is more of a goat ranch then a golf course. After putting on greens with weeds on them I have definitely seen it all.
The course is brownish yellow which I can manage hitting off any type of rough or fairway but when I swung my 9iron into a pile of gravel it was the last straw ; but the greens were ALSO as if I was growing the lawn in my back yard and failed to use roundup the last half decade.
Thankful to the friendly staff in the shop and restaurant but we quit playing after 7 holes because this was more like croquet meets, weed baccii ball.
Don’t pay to play here.
Great for the price!
I live close to this course and was a a nice CC at one time! Everything but the course is gone! For the price you can get good value golf! But the course is not easy! I think it gets bad reviews because of this! I am a 10 he and I shoot 78 to 92. So don’t let your score influence your review! Hard course, get over it!
