Applecross Country Club

Have been aware of Applecross for a while now. With its recent addition to Golfnow, finally got my opportunity to play. The hot deal was a bit more then I’m use to paying to play anywhere, but to play a new course for me and not have to drive a couple hours made it worth while.

Not sure what to say. When I do pay around $100 to play a course, I expect almost perfection. The handful of times I’ve done it, I’ve been disappointed. Applecross was as close as I’ve played. . I didn’t feel like I was overcharged, and I’ll probably be looking for another day to try to improve on my 91 from the gold/blue hybrid tees. Probably about 6100 yards.

Wonderful opportunity to play a private course in amazing conditions. After teeing off and playing the 1st hole alone, I was joined by a course regular. Doug was a huge help in providing me with local course knowledge.

The course conditions were top notch. The layout and views are amazing. And a 3 hour round was perfect.

I highly recommend playing this tract.

From well kept tee boxes to lush fairways and beautiful greens. This course was amazing and challenging at the same time. Put your thinking cap on and be prepared to up your game

everything I expected was all that and more. this course will challenge. you physically and mentally. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great shape.

But the on course restrooms really need an upgrade the compost toilets needs to go they are disgusting, went to take a leak and the toilet had a big present in it that I didn’t need to see

I’m a member at Applecross CC and most of my non member golf friends hate this course. They’ll brag about shooting a 77 or 82 at Honeybrook, Moccasin Run or Kimberton. They’ll play here and be crying by hole 15 (as their score is already in triple digits). If you are a serious golfer you will love this challenging course. Otherwise steer clear. Keep it in the fairway and you’ll be fine. Otherwise plan on bringing a couple dozen balls. You won’t find ‘em if you’re not in the fairway. Caveat Emptor!!!

Got stuck with a slow couple of guys who the the tee box was a driving range :) but the course was excellent.

I'm just not a fan of residential courses like this one. Long drives between tees and greens that make them barely walkable and without a sense of continuity. Narrow with OB everywhere. The design seems wedged between houses and protected areas. It felt generic and lacking character.

That said, there were some enjoyable stretches. The starter was also nice and helpful.

The course was immaculate. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Greens had a lot of subtleties and rolled beautifully. Fairways were perfect. Rough is sticky so keep that in mind when chipping.

Conditions were excellent, fairways, greens all great shape, layout good, some blind shots, gps on carts helped, but you need a couple trips around to really figure out how to play it. But overall had a really good time.

The best course I’ve played in PA period! Meticulously keep, friendly staff, good value and a bar and grille with great food. Just a top notch facility!'

Played Applecross in a scramble tournament so I have some holes out of order in my head.

Conditions were nice, and really like the green complexes. I thought some of the holes were funky, too tight, or odd turns - it would help to have a rangefinder to know some distances.

The barn they renovated on property was very nice inside.
