This is a very difficult course for the average golfer
I’m a member at Applecross CC and most of my non member golf friends hate this course. They’ll brag about shooting a 77 or 82 at Honeybrook, Moccasin Run or Kimberton. They’ll play here and be crying by hole 15 (as their score is already in triple digits). If you are a serious golfer you will love this challenging course. Otherwise steer clear. Keep it in the fairway and you’ll be fine. Otherwise plan on bringing a couple dozen balls. You won’t find ‘em if you’re not in the fairway. Caveat Emptor!!!
Very nice Course
Got stuck with a slow couple of guys who the the tee box was a driving range :) but the course was excellent.
Residential golf . . .
I'm just not a fan of residential courses like this one. Long drives between tees and greens that make them barely walkable and without a sense of continuity. Narrow with OB everywhere. The design seems wedged between houses and protected areas. It felt generic and lacking character.
That said, there were some enjoyable stretches. The starter was also nice and helpful.
Worth it
The course was immaculate. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Greens had a lot of subtleties and rolled beautifully. Fairways were perfect. Rough is sticky so keep that in mind when chipping.
Applecross
Conditions were excellent, fairways, greens all great shape, layout good, some blind shots, gps on carts helped, but you need a couple trips around to really figure out how to play it. But overall had a really good time.

The best course I’ve played in PA period! Meticulously keep, friendly staff, good value and a bar and grille with great food. Just a top notch facility!'
Scramble Tournament
Played Applecross in a scramble tournament so I have some holes out of order in my head.
Conditions were nice, and really like the green complexes. I thought some of the holes were funky, too tight, or odd turns - it would help to have a rangefinder to know some distances.
The barn they renovated on property was very nice inside.
