fun course, not overly difficult for the weekend duffer. Always in good shape easy to walk. Great staff, awesome food after the round.

I like having the 3 nine hole courses.
The staff is so friendly. I golf there about once a month. The BBQ is delicious!!!

Enjoyable round by the lake
Some fun par 3's are the big attraction. Par 4's are mostly the same. Tough when the wind blows.

Pest Control Needed
I have played many rounds over the years at Prairie Lakes. On the good side of things, I applaud the staff here for the work they have done to improve the quality of the fairways and the bunkers. Really, some praise-worthy improvements over the past few years.
However, this was by far my worst outing at Prairie Lakes. The course has always had a bit of a challenge with bugs.... especially on the holes adjacent to water... but today was absolutely unbearable. By the time I got to the 7th hole on the White course, I (and my cart) was swarmed by flies on every tee box, on every fairway, and on every green. Imagine a few dozen flies on your cart and another dozen crawling up your legs and arms every time you were at address. Even after applying bug spray (which I did immediately), the bugs continued to persist. They also were super aggressive and would bite... just... unbearable.
In addition to this, several of the greens had been over sanded after aeration and had 1/4 of sand built up on various parts of the greens. Frankly, I could have forgiven the sand on the greens had the flies not been so pervasive. I ended up walking off the course after 12 holes of play.
If you play here, bring bug spray and wear long pants and/or sleeves if possible.
I'll wait until the late fall before I visit Prairie Lakes again.

Prairie Lakes, fun course!
I've played this course a handful of times and it's honestly a treat. I live in Weatherford and it's worth the drive. Friendly staff, GREAT food, well designed course, with a few challenging holes (mainly the 3 holes surrounded by water), with a few very getable holes too. Though they have three sets of 9 holes, one in particular hasn't seemed to be open when I play (which is okay). Honestly, the only complaint I have is the last time I played l, a few of the greens were fairly patchy and sandy. But my guess is they making improvements, as most courses do. I definitely recommend this course for all skill levels.

Very well maintained course
For this kind of money we were very impressed. Good location. Club house is serving up some serious BBQ. With 27 holes it made the pace nice even with so many people on the course. This is a very mature course with very mature manicured trees. If they had a little rain to keep the course a little greener it would be magnificent. They have kept the fairways green and the greens in GREAT shape. It plays pretty tough because all the beautiful trees line every single hole. Water comes into play many times. Don't remember seeing any traps which is fine with me. The trees protected most the holes so accuracy is the name of the game here. Everything about this course shows it is cared for with TLC!

course is in great shape. Friendly staff, awesome food. Great value also, fun course to walk, very playable some courses are too difficult for the weekend warrior.. I'll keep coming back.
