Irving Golf Club
About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

aways nice
Winter conditions so everything is dormant, and hard. But fairways and greens had been sprayed and were green. Greens were very fast, as was expected, and smooth. General conditions were very good.
Ridiculous
Constant frost delays driving close to an hour on to not get paired with anyone and expect to play as a single and wait on every single shot not just tee shots that’s irons everything. Who does that when I book hot deals that are %100 full idk how this happens
The GOAT of DFW Public Courses
I’ve reviewed this course before and feel like I love it more each time I play it. It’s a straight forward course with enough room off the tee for every skill level, but enough undulation and tricks to keep advanced players happy. It is always in exceptional condition for the price. The staff is friendly, the drinks inside are priced fairly, and the views of the city on 10 are great. I kind of don’t want people to know about this place so I can get better tee times.
Coming out of freeze
This is a great course, good bang for buck, with an underrated and unique layout. We played just a few days after tarps came off from a long freeze so conditions were as you'd expect (not awesome). They have trimmed down a lot of the native grass lining the holes, which made for some interesting changes. For example, the tee shot on 2 is now really opened up but also you can now see the water that must be carried, so mentally the shot is just different. I was also able to find some stray drives that normally would have been lost to thick grass, making for some fun recovery shots. Greens were super firm and fast, with some poa anna that should burn off once weather consistently warms up. Pace of play was surprisingly fast for a weekend afternoon. Update to carts with gps was a nice bonus.
Nice course
In good shape. Fun to play. Not too challenging from the whites. For 20 handicap bunkers in play on drives.
Excellent course
Very pleased with the course great value for the money the GPS is in the golf carts are quite accurate. The golf carts could run a little faster.
Good Course / Nice Experience
Course was in great shape. Both fairways and greens. Pretty wide open but bunkers on most greens and water came into play in a couple of holes.
Attendant at the club house was professional and friendly Complimentary towels and water bottles in golf cart.
Will definitely play again.
Hidden Gem
I absolutely love this course! Very beginner friendly but with enough obstacles to make it interesting. My only real complaint is too many people know about how great it is so if you want a good weekend tee time you gotta be trying for it at midnight the week before.
Value of the Course
This is the best bang for your buck course in DFW because of the the condition that the course is in. The greens are fast but everything is pure.
Great course
Really loved playing this course. It’s well structured but we went on a busy weekend and had to wait awhile for each hole. But had a great time. Great course. Deserves love for sure.
