About

From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.

Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.

Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

Good course / pace of play slow on this day

I have played this course a lot as it is always in good shape, good value and like the course layout. However, yesterday I left after only playing 9 holes becase pace of play was etremely slow. About 10 minute wait each and every hole There was a huge group in front of me. Very disappointing due to slow play, but it is not normal for this course and hopefully will not happen again.

Quit after 9 holes

Greens are in great condition. Course is looking good. I played here a few times.

Every hole was backed up with multiple groups. Me and our group called the pro shop multiple times for them to get a Marshall out on the course to speed things up.

I booked 18 holes, but only played nine holes. Gave up. Two hour and 35 minutes for nine holes. Not a fun time. Would have been a 5 hour round on a Wednesday morning!

Danny in the pro shop is the stereotypical rude pro shop guy you seen social media videos. Answered the phone two times before even acknowledging me while I was waiting there at the counter no apology, no good morning, no nothing. He started all our conversation with “ name and tee time?”

Course in good condition

Nice little course that is in nice condition. Course layout is fairly wide open and forgiving. Pace of play on back nine was a bit slow after we caught 2 groups at the turn. But overall finished up mid week round in around 4 hrs so hard to complain too much
