Tangle Ridge Golf Club

About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Fun day
We had a good time playing this course nice setup and the greens were in great shape considering it’s the middle of July will definitely play here again
Tangle Ridge
I think it’s a challenge to play this course. The bunkers were filled with water from the rain we recently had. The cart girl was a life saver as we saw her numerous times. I had a great time playing with 3 strangers that were very nice.
Tangle Ridge Review
Very good public course
Always in great shape
Reasonable cost
A little slow play - but expected being public.
Good course, long round
I really enjoyed this course. Challenging but fair. Nice carts and friendly staff. Where it went downhill for me was course management - one group ruined pace of play for everyone. Had 3 groups stacked on hole 7 and despite calls from individuals from each group to the pro shop asking for a Marshall to come out and handle the situation, didn’t see a Marshall the entire round until the 18th hole where they casually approached us and had the gall to say “well you’re already on 18” and even then a member wanted them to go say something to the group that held everyone up all day with zero regard for pace and the Marshall drive off with zero urgency and ultimately just drive by the group saying nothing. That being said I’d play here again just not on a weekend, and next time I’ll take matters into my own hands knowing the course won’t do anything about it :)
Great layout and fun course
I have seen in better shape, they seem to be a little bit dry, but overall still fun. Staff is always a blast, especially the counter guys.
Still Great!
Play here every few months, and the hour drive is always worth it. Great staff, beautiful course, summer or fall time. Greens always look great. Always in my rotation of DFW Courses.
Solid Course
Just a good course all the way around and great value for the green fee.
One of my favorite courses!
Beautiful course with some fun holes. Conditions were as good as can be expected with all this rain.
