Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Fun course but needs help
Course was in good shape other than the greens recently being punched and sanded. Pace was slow, the course needs active marshalls to push the slow players along. I grew a full beard on the back nine waiting on a twosome tin front of me to figure out which end of the club to use to hit the ball...brutal.
Greens are as bad as they say
Greens are horrible. Loved this course for many years and have never seen it this bad.
Super fun layout
I enjoyed this course. I got a great price due to the greens maintenance. Full of sand but that's ok. Fairways had great quality. Not sure why it's so hard to have a flat tee box. Definitely going back.
Always fun to play
The greens had been punched and sanded, so give it a couple weeks . course was in very good condition
Course under Maintenance but still awesome
Beautiful course. I loved the challenges. Unfortunately the green were being Aerated but that needs to be done. Will be back when it healthy again.
disappointing as it was the best golf course
putting greens are just bad, something went wrong. will net come back again after being our favorite golf course.
Course conditions were fine. The front side greens will hopefully improve. I’ve always enjoyed playing this course for the past 20 years
Great layout but terrible greens
The layout is awesome. But the greens were like putting on gravel. The pro shop staff wasn’t welcoming, but the rest of the staff was great. Checked the box and finally got to play it, but probably won’t be back
Green are unplayable
Greens are unplayable, which is sad because I used to love this track.
Sadly Unplayable
If you don't care about putting its a great track. Sadly the greens are so infested with POA it is unplayable to keep any kind of score. I love this course and hope they turn it around.
This is a $45 max green fee course until the greens are fixed. Every putt jumps and many stop on slopes they shouldn't.
Greens are unplayable
Simply not in condition to keep a score. Downhill puts would stop on the slope and every put you hit jumps because of the weed growing up through the green. I love this course and have recommended it even shortly after being punched, but the greens are terrible
Rough Greens
The greens are in poor shape, with a lot of bare spots and weeds all throughout. It’s a shame because the rest of the course is in good shape and it’s a fun track!
