Course was unique in many ways,fairways and bunkers were very playable.Greens were a little shaky but fair.Inside staff was very nice and helpful,starters(cart boys)could improve their social skills?Overall we had a very good day and will certainly return!
Absurdly slow play
Ridiculously slow pace of play, like sitting in gridlock traffic for hours. Finally quit after 4+ hrs after hole 13. Group ahead of us still on tee box every stinking hole and had to wait for each and every shot-brutal. Quit after 13 holes and brought obnoxiously slow play to pro shop staff, they did nothing but make excuses. If u like a 5+he round play here. (Don't think they've ever heard of a Marshall)
Always in Great Condition
2nd time playing Maryland National this year. Try to get there at least 4 times a year. Each time you leave the course you feel you should have scored 3 shots lower. Yes it has some quirky holes but they make you think.
270s Best of the All the Area Competitors
My all time favorite course in the I-70 - 270 locale and 2nd only to Bulle Rock for the entire state of Maryland! Thanks once again and see you all again soon!
Sunday Afternoon
Played a sunday afternoon on a hot deal with cupon code for $43. The course was in good shape and the staff was nice to deal with. My one complaint is that the group on front of us was very slow, roughly 3 holes behind the group of ahead of them by the time the round ended, so we played a 5 hour round which sucked as we had to wait on every shot. Other then that it was an enjoyable round.
Nice course, slow play
I’ve played here dozens of times. The course is always in good shape, although the bunkers are fairly rocky. It’s a terrific layout. The real issue the last couple times I’ve visited has been slow play. Today a foursome a couple groups in front of us took 2.5 hours on the front nine. No ranger, nobody from the clubhouse came out despite them saying they monitor every group’s pace from GPS on the carts. The time before this I quit after almost 5 hours for only 15 holes. Both rounds were early afternoons on weekdays. I’d never even consider this place on a weekend. Great course that just needs better management of pace of play.
Even in rain still great
I played yesterday in the rain and it was still an amazing course. Greens were fast, fairways were dry for the most part. A couple spots were wet. A lot of elevation changes and chances to use a lot of different clubs in the bag.
