About
Riverside Golf Club is appropriately named. The course sits in a floodplain along the Trinity River with water in play on seemingly every hole. This is a combination links-style/traditional layout that is surprisingly difficult for a municipal course. Great holes abound on the Roger Packard layout, which requires the rare combination of length and accuracy when playing from the tips.
Holes 4-6 offer one of the better stretches of golf, starting with a 462-yard par 4 that is cut in the landing area by pesky fairway bunkers, and features a long approach into an elevated green that is surrounded by water and slopes back-to-front. Club down on no. 4 because leaving it short still offers the chance for an up-and-down. No. 5 is a good par 3, especially from the middle tees where it generally plays as a short iron. Watch for the front pin placement, which can leave you with a long downhill putt if the tee shot is too long. Water looms to the right but it takes a bad shank to dunk it in the drink. No. 6 goes 543 yards, doglegging left along the Trinity with water fronting the green. The tee shot must be long and straight, and anything too far right leaves a precarious second shot around the bend.
The back side is the more fun of the two, taking you through good combinations of holes that offer excellent birdie opportunities if you’re on your game. You'll need those birds when you come down the home stretch.

Pace of play
There should have a marshal to monitor the pace of play. It took us 6 hours to get to 17th holes. By the time we got to the 18th it was already dark and couldn’t finish the round.
Challenging
Several of the holes on this course are very tight and difficult, The eighteenth green takes two great shots to hit. My latest round was over four hours with no cart girl.
Nice course
First time playing this course. Fun and challenging, greens were fast and in really good condition.
Deep bunkers but soft sand.
Had a great time!
We started out behind a twosome that let us play through after the 3rd hole. After that, we had at least two holes between us and a foursome until we caught up to them on 10. Still finished around hours and 40 minutes! Hot dogs were delicious at the shack by the turn!
Usually a great experienc
My group considers this our 'home course' but we ran into a 2:45 front 9 with a group of 5 ahead of us and quit the round early, so hence not a perfect score. Staff is great.
First Ace!!!
Going 5 stars all the way today… nailed my first ace on hole 16.
This course is all about the golf. Mr Jay and his staff know what time it is when it comes to course management and hospitality. These greens are always in amazing shape. Nice tee boxes and beautiful fairways for days. Great job Team Riverside. See you next time! Thank you.
Pretty slow at back 9 holes
Friendly staff and pretty slow paced at 15, 16, 17 and 18th hole and no Marshall's.
2 different courses
The front nine is terrible and the back 9 was pleasant except holes 6-8. Don’t waste your time
Great course, great value
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this public course. It was better than my home country club course. The staff were outstanding. Very friendly and welcoming. The course was extremely fair and challenging. Green we’re firm, held shots and we’re quite fast. My only complaint is that most of the greens were very small. But judged against the playing conditions, it is likely the only way to protect itself. For a high handicapper that relies on getting in the green to have a chance, it did not happen the day I played. I plan to play this course the next time in the Dallas area. It is a wonderful course & I highly recommend it! The value you get for the price is worth it!!!
Great Greens!
Great Greens and Fairways here. Layout is decent. Not great for high handicap but course is great.
Riverside Golf Club
Not a word I use often, but the greens are in PRISTINE shape! Currently its some of the nicest greens I have played on in DFW this year. If you have not played here I highly recommend it. Blind tee shots, forced carries and well placed bunkers make this course an enjoyable experience. No issues with pace of play during my round. The staff is extremely friendly, especially the starter (can not remember his name.)
