Riverside Golf Club
About
Riverside Golf Club is appropriately named. The course sits in a floodplain along the Trinity River with water in play on seemingly every hole. This is a combination links-style/traditional layout that is surprisingly difficult for a municipal course. Great holes abound on the Roger Packard layout, which requires the rare combination of length and accuracy when playing from the tips.
Holes 4-6 offer one of the better stretches of golf, starting with a 462-yard par 4 that is cut in the landing area by pesky fairway bunkers, and features a long approach into an elevated green that is surrounded by water and slopes back-to-front. Club down on no. 4 because leaving it short still offers the chance for an up-and-down. No. 5 is a good par 3, especially from the middle tees where it generally plays as a short iron. Watch for the front pin placement, which can leave you with a long downhill putt if the tee shot is too long. Water looms to the right but it takes a bad shank to dunk it in the drink. No. 6 goes 543 yards, doglegging left along the Trinity with water fronting the green. The tee shot must be long and straight, and anything too far right leaves a precarious second shot around the bend.
The back side is the more fun of the two, taking you through good combinations of holes that offer excellent birdie opportunities if you’re on your game. You'll need those birds when you come down the home stretch.

Bumpy Greens
The course overall is in great shape…except the greens. It looks like they aerated them about a month ago and they do not putt well.
Excellent condition…But…
Purchased an online t-time. We got to the course and were told the greens had been punched/sanded that morning, so they were super sandy. They did roll pretty true. Billy the cart guy was great, the guy in the pro shop not so much…
Best deal in the Metro Plex
Don't want to brag on this course too much. Otherwise I won't get the tee times I have had in past. Great shape. Good course. Great price!
Good Shape
The greens were soft and receptive, but fast. The fairways looked pretty good, and even the rough was not bare or dirt in most places. It is a tough layout and really challenging for anyone who has not played here regularly.

Course in great shape even with all recent rain. Plush fairways and greens in great shape. Bunkers as good as can be expected given the rain. Last par 3 needs directions on how to get to the green given the construction.
The Trinity River puts the River in Riverside...
The Trinity River puts the River in Riverside---several holes on the back 9 had portions that the Trinity River has reclaimed as it were, through flooding and eroded banks...but it's ALSO what makes this course really cool and pleasing to the eye (mine at least). The course design is dictated by the meanders and river bends and has undulations that reminds me of a Links style course.
The tees and fairways were in good shape (which is still a rarity for the DFW area due to February's ice/snow), and the greens were in great shape. The bunkers (as is everywhere) could use a little work aka better drainage but overall the course was in really nice shape.
It's a bit of a 'target' course---fairways are narrow, the par 4's aren't that long (I hit 3 wood off the tee most of the day and was in good position to attack pins---driver just seemed to invite hazards) and the greens are particularly small--more narrow than long, and so you have to pay particular attention to not short-siding yourself---and finding the middle of the fairways.
I dug it, it was challenging without being too hard, great condition, beautiful day, and lots of wildlife/views of the river. For those who care about such things, the Cart girls came by 2-3 times per 9 and had a really convenient outdoor stand to pick up snacks and beverages between 9's---really handy!
I recommend it!
Overall good!
The course is challenging and in good shape. Only problem was flying red ants on the front nine, but regulars say that’s unusual, and short-lived. Very enjoyable and the staff is great!
Fairways and greens in great shape
Enjoyed the breeze andbexcellent golf amenities offered
Great fairways
Tough to find courses with “spongy” fairways in Texas. Great conditions

Price was great, course is in amazing condition. Staff was super courteous. Will definitely put in bi-weekly rotation
The cart lady came around 4-5 times . You hardly ever have this happen on most courses.. so pace of play great ,course in great condition and saw the beverage cart more than once. Pretty solid place to play
Great Value for Money
Course in great shape. Greens really in excellent shape. Little slow but consistent.
