About
Riverside Golf Club is appropriately named. The course sits in a floodplain along the Trinity River with water in play on seemingly every hole. This is a combination links-style/traditional layout that is surprisingly difficult for a municipal course. Great holes abound on the Roger Packard layout, which requires the rare combination of length and accuracy when playing from the tips.
Holes 4-6 offer one of the better stretches of golf, starting with a 462-yard par 4 that is cut in the landing area by pesky fairway bunkers, and features a long approach into an elevated green that is surrounded by water and slopes back-to-front. Club down on no. 4 because leaving it short still offers the chance for an up-and-down. No. 5 is a good par 3, especially from the middle tees where it generally plays as a short iron. Watch for the front pin placement, which can leave you with a long downhill putt if the tee shot is too long. Water looms to the right but it takes a bad shank to dunk it in the drink. No. 6 goes 543 yards, doglegging left along the Trinity with water fronting the green. The tee shot must be long and straight, and anything too far right leaves a precarious second shot around the bend.
The back side is the more fun of the two, taking you through good combinations of holes that offer excellent birdie opportunities if you’re on your game. You'll need those birds when you come down the home stretch.

love the course!
Unfortunate that some of the cart paths are being taken by the river but this is my home course. Usually play here 2-3 times a week. This past Sunday the course was in great conditions but the bunkers needed some serious work though. There was no way to get the club under the ball. Still love it though!
Fix the Bunkers
Great track that requires some golf shots and length at times. The greens are consistently in good shape. Bunkers are garbage as well as the 15th tee box. That said, I’d play this course anytime. Great value!
Very nice course
Great layout, good greens that were just recently sanded. Greens are very small on some holes. Overall this is a very nice course, just a bit to far away from where I live to play it more often.
Course in Good Shape
The fairways and greens were in good shape. The course is the best I have seen it in several years. Hole 15 was the only problem where the tee boxes have washed away due to the river bank washing out.

Fun Track
I have been playing Riverside since it opened and have seen it in the worst of times. Well, this year is a bonus because so far no flood, and everything is unnaturally green for mid-August in Texas. A few bunkers could use some TLC but other than that no complaints! The beverage cart came by twice!
Very Nice Round
Course in good shape overall. The only reason it did not rate a 5 is the conditions of the bunkers...particularly on the front 9. Fairways ad greens excellent. As always, great value for the money!
overpriced
for $60 I expect GPS, towels, tees, ice and water in the cart. just a few little cha-ches, you don't get at the $35 level. seems like all the courses have taken full advantage of the pandemic and raised prices a lot!
