About
Riverside Golf Club is appropriately named. The course sits in a floodplain along the Trinity River with water in play on seemingly every hole. This is a combination links-style/traditional layout that is surprisingly difficult for a municipal course. Great holes abound on the Roger Packard layout, which requires the rare combination of length and accuracy when playing from the tips.
Holes 4-6 offer one of the better stretches of golf, starting with a 462-yard par 4 that is cut in the landing area by pesky fairway bunkers, and features a long approach into an elevated green that is surrounded by water and slopes back-to-front. Club down on no. 4 because leaving it short still offers the chance for an up-and-down. No. 5 is a good par 3, especially from the middle tees where it generally plays as a short iron. Watch for the front pin placement, which can leave you with a long downhill putt if the tee shot is too long. Water looms to the right but it takes a bad shank to dunk it in the drink. No. 6 goes 543 yards, doglegging left along the Trinity with water fronting the green. The tee shot must be long and straight, and anything too far right leaves a precarious second shot around the bend.
The back side is the more fun of the two, taking you through good combinations of holes that offer excellent birdie opportunities if you’re on your game. You'll need those birds when you come down the home stretch.

Course in very good condition
Decided to give Riverside a try since we had not been out there in about two years. Golf Now was offering a hot deal and glad we snagged it. Fairways in good shape and greens very good.
Mary in the Pro Shop was extremely friendly. It was a great way to start our day. Booked again for this Saturday.
Hidden Gem
Listen if you have not stopped by in a while you should. The golf course looks great and the staff is amazing.

Greens in good shape and rolling true.
Some bunkers need a little TLC but this
is TX and not FL. Beverage cart came by often.
Rainy day but still enjoyable
Played on a Thursday, on hole 6 it started raining. The course drained quickly and I was able to finish the round. 1 hole hada temporary tee box, so yardage was difficult to judge. However greens and fairways were in good condition.
Monday golf
Loved the course, even with all the rain the DFW has had it was in great condition. Nice practice area with chipping green near the driving range. A couple of holes had blind shots so might be good to have a layout when going.
Slow!!!!
No Carts went off 20 minutes late, group of 16 in front of us. Round took over 5 hours!!!
A Gem of a Course
Wow beautiful course and nice views.
Some holes are mind bending difficult and others are easy peasy.
Great greens but bunkers are not friendly.
Overall great quality for the money.

Great time yesterday. Mary in the pro shop is great to deal with! Even though I was a tad bit late, no one made me feel rushed.

Power Shower Can’t Dampen Round
By far the nicest fairways I’ve seen this year so far. Fun layout with challenging holes. Greens were in good condition, though the rain slowed everything down. Had a fun round.
Sand traps
Biggest complaint is poorly kept sand traps do not get in them
Torrential Downpour Couldn’t Dampen My Round
Probably hit my best balls when it was really coming down. Course was in great shape, best fairways I’ve seen all year. Many blind shots but they have a nice hole description for 1-18. Had a great round.
