Beautiful and Challenging
This course is well designed and presents a fair challenge to various handicaps. The price is fair. The views are great. The local pro isn't very friendly. I hear he's a good player. Other employees are friendly.
They provide a discount for servicemen and veterans.
You have to plan half a day for the pace of play here. Usually quite slow - 4 to 5 hours!.
Course is in great condition, roughs needs to be cut. This is a challenging course, especially with wind.
Great Course
We’re visiting family from out of town. Played the course after an overnight rain so course was wet, but was still in very good shape. Great course layout, w back nine having several holes with great views of Longview Lake. Can’t wait for my next trip to KC so we can play Fred Arbanas course again.
Great Time Here
Wonderful Beautiful Course We had ALOT of Fun! WEED flowed Freely!
Nice Course
The course is always in really good shape. We played after a thunderstorm but there was no standing water to be found. Fun course that offers a the recreational golfer a challenge.
Anxious to play again
Wasn’t expecting much, but was incredibly surprised how great the course was. Playing golf my entire life and this was top 3 public courses I’ve played in the country.
Great outing at Longview Lake
Our 4some really enjoyed playing this course. We finished in 4 hours and yet scoring was typical for us with some birdies and a few quadruple bogeys. Fairways are nice and wide, green targets are large but undulating
The gold course was great. Lota of tight challenging holes
The wond was a big factor on some holes. The Par 5 was reachable (down wind) yet very challenging.
Generally its a thinking golfers course
Not customer focus
The course was in good shape and maintained very well. It was set to be a great day on the course and a great 4th. Started the day early and had a great time on the course but the 13th hole rolled around and there goes the horn. Stop play they said. We finished the hole out and headed back to the clubhouse. Expecting the rain to keep coming for a few hours and we weren’t going to waste our entire 4th on the golf course we headed to the pro shop to see what they could do. NOTHING. They wouldn’t do anything for us getting through 13 holes. We weren’t even looking for a full rain check but some kind of deal that would make missing he last 5 hours worth it to come back. Instead I asked if they would kindly give me a phone call when the course opened back up just so we weren’t wasting time there. No phone call. It was just poor customer service. I think the course is great but don’t expect to be back. I’d recommend putting your money towards another course that cares about the experience of golf and not just profits.
We got rained out when we played today and only got to tee off on the 4th hole. The course has some challenging and interesting terrain. It was in good shape and I look forward to playing it again.
Also, I really appreciated the staff blowing the horns when it was time to head for cover. I had a rough experience at another local course when they didn’t warn us. We had a close lightning strike and headed back and almost couldn’t make it through a tunnel due to flooding. Thanks again for the warning.
Good condition..Hangry Marshal
Course is in very good shape especially considering the heavy rain in the area. Pace of play was good. Only complaint was a marshal not acknowledging us at all when we waved at him at the turn. Well okay. Everybody else was very friendly. He almost singly handily made the friendliness rating poor though. Get that guy a Snickers. Oh..would also be nice if you didn’t have to floor it for the carts to move or leave a credit card for a cheap cooler.
good shape
The course is in very good condition and seems to have avoided the same fate as many places around KC. The fairways have suffered only a minor amount do to the rain. The Greens are in good shape and rolled true.
1st Cut Rough too tall
When playing occasionally, course was too time consuming looking for your golf ball off the fairway. Grass was incredibly thick in the first cut rough and tall. Balls would settle and could not locate ball off the fairway. Lost time during play and tempo pace was lost due to time looking for ball. Will return to play again, but only if tough is mowed to shorter height.
Cut the rough adjacent fairway
First the positives: nice layout, fairways and greens putted fair and fast. Two big negatives. I literally lost 4 golf balls in the primary rough adjacent fairway. Beyond aggravating. I can't imagine pace of play for mid-day hackers. I'm a 12hcp and I've never lost more than one ball in the rough before. Ever. Please create a primary and secondary rough or have fore caddies. Secondly, the service at the snack bar while friendly was ridiculously SLOW.. Nearly lost our place on the 10th tee for a granola bar and cold beer to go. Yikes.
Great course, awesome staff, nice views
Course was in great shape, considering all the rain we've had. Super friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend
Love this course.
Lets just get the negative out of the way: Its overpriced for a county course.
That is the only negative.
Positives: course in good shape considering the time of year. There were some wet areas that need to be addressed, but otherwise the course was well groomed.
Fairways were delicious. Greens were challenging but awesome.
