About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

rained out
I was rained out after 4 holes but what i saw of the course it was in poor condition. Worse than it used to be. greens were in bad shape, very slow and it looked like the holes hadn't been recut in quite a while

Legendary Oaks
When traveling on 290 there is a sign on the highway. Your ticket to a golf adventure. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The Marshall made a point of stopping by on #4 to let me know it was 90° rule. The grass is green. Greens are in fairly good shape. Much better than other venues. So on a beautiful day enjoy an adventure. With the trees that have been removed an open format. Good luck.

The bunkers have some really good sand in the bunkers now. Just need a few rakes

Legendary golf course layout is nice. There is maintenance going on now. The greens are not the best. Work is needed for sure. Staff is super friendly.

Terrible 18 hole course
This place used to be decent 3-4 years ago. It is rin down, greens are the worse I have ever played. Sand traps are all unplayable, fairways are bad and tee boxes need to be mowed.

Layout is great but the greens need work.. The pace of play was horrible... Groups of 4,5, and 6 wouldn't let single players and groups of 2 play through

Low end golf course
Easily the worst course ive played on in the houston area. Not worth the time or money. It’s a cheap round of golf but not worth it. weeds are growing on tbe greens and bunkers dont have sand in them. a few bunkers are being over taken by weeds and grass.

Easy going and fun
Our twosome wound up a becoming a foursome by combing with the 2 singles behind us. We had a good fun time. The putting surfaces are a little ragged and bumpy right now, but we all kept it in perspective. We were all 90’s and low 100’s guys. Course layout is interesting and fair, with some well protected greens. Good, low key place to get in a round.

Cart Paths
#13 Tee Box: Patrons are going straight up fairway when leaving tee box instead of following cart path over and around. Probably need to stake & rope off the entire area.

Good overall
The greens still need quite a bit of work. Not much grass on some of them. They had recently aerated the fairways so it was a bit rough with roll and lie. Overall not bad especially for the price

It has been in better shape hit or miss course!
Course was in decent shape but the greens are horrible! Last time here they were in great condition this time they were really bad. This course is hit or miss on the greens, seems like they cannot get it figured out how to keep nice greens. I live in the area and this was one of the warmest Februarys on record and March has been nice. Greens should be in a lot better shape! They could really use someone who knows how to manage the greens. Traps are never raked always hard, packed and muddy if it rained. There are still quite a few dead trees and logs laying around. For the money not bad but could be a lot better with a good greens keeper!
