About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

Getting better
Greens are in the best shape I have seen in a long time. Tee boxes could use a bit of attention, and it would be a nice touch to repaint the signs and tee markers. Paint and daylight led lighting would help the restrooms too. The lady at the desk was friendly and efficient. Played as a single this time and others let me play through with no problem. Overall, the experience was very good and I will play here again.

Not a mowing expert but wondered why the mowing is so short in many cases. I'd prefer to hit fairway balls on a little grass

Inexpensive and Quality course
I drove from BCS to try a nice course. It is a better layout and course than either of the 2 public courses in college station. It’s fun and challenging with many water features and fairway bunkers. If you’re looking for an inexpensive course but great quality, this is a great option!!

The fairways were a little in the dry side, other than that had a great time.

Don't understand why I was charged an extra $10 to ride single in a cart when there were no other players. I played by myself! Not happy with this.

Overall Great Value
Greens are in good condition but slow. As dry as it's been can't fault for keeping them a little higher. Good layout and got around quickly. Will come back!

brooklyn bridge
Play here weekly, cause of this Historic DROUGHT, the staff is doing a really decent job of maintaining the course, but the wooden bridges are nerve racking going over

Needs some attention
Course seems to be getting worse and worse but price doesn't change. They allow 6 sums and even had a group of 7. Two of us played best ball and took forever. No marshall. Sitting in 100 heat waiting is no fun. Water coolers were free and far between and havent seen ice in atleast a day or so. No baskets on driving range for ball machine unless you trekked 100 yds to where they were left. Rough areas are ball eaters due to lack of attention. Bring a hammer for the tee boxes. Staff ? I seen 1 person. No ice in ice machine for the over priced drinks that you'll have to buy due to lack of drinking water. This is a last resort course. Speaking of resort go into the club house and look at the photos on the wall where they advertise what this place looks like. Lolllllll. You'll get a good laugh.

Elbow Grease and a Bit of Paint
This could be a little gem of a course if the owners would put in a bit of work. Greens and fairways were okay (thanks to some recent rain) but basic maintenance seems non existent. Get out some paint and clean up the tee-box markers. Pull some weeds and tidy up the areas around the shop. One bridge had broken railings.
If someone were to buy this club and invest some time and money - especially as the population of Houston moves west, this course could be terrific.
Until then it is just a cheap place to play 18.

Bunkers need work
This course has been playing allot better since the first few times I played it. The one thing I works day is lacking is the bunkers. It’s like hitting off of cement. Needs to be tilled on all holes. Greens were in good condition and fairways were pretty good compared to a month ago. Can’t beat the price during the weekdays for sure & it’s a great place to work on your game.

Needs a lot of TLC
Having played this course many times over the years we got even less than expected. Tee boxes are in rough shape, literally! Tees have grass and weeds up to 2” tall, they are not close to level. Fairways hadn’t been cut in a while and bunkers are unkept, even if one wanted to rake the bunkers there were either no rakes or rakes broken in half. The greens were the only bright spot, soft and rolled true albeit quite slow. Water hard to find on course, very little ice to be had in proshop, and the bathrooms are filthy.
Then go play at Memorial Park or Wildcat. Legendary Oaks has improved a lot of the last year and has still kept Green Fees low. Stop complaining
