About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

Good for the money
Greens are much better than last fall. Course is very dry off the fairways where I spend most of my time, but we are in a drought. High handicapper course for sure. Easy to find wayward shots. Can’t wait until it gets some good rain out there.

Much Better
I’ve played this course the past three weekends. The greens are much better than they were several months ago. Greens are slow but are definitely coming back!

Its okay
Course was okay, Greens were slow. Course was not too busy. It was a 4 hr pace of play.

Course is a great place for a low handicap to go out and grind on a good layout.The pace of play is always good .I have been playing this course since it was owned by Lawrence Marshall .The Greens could always use a cutting to be seeded and to be double cut .the layout is great .One Drawback is they need to keep cold water in the coolers during summer months. The current staff is great,maybe if cost effective cook on weekdays also seems to be 25-30 2 somes or more out on the days I'm out with nothing hot to eat at the turn ..The Driving range is a improvement but make sure the Mats are solidly planted they move every time you hit off them..The one fan for 9 hitting booths is lost math on me maybe add more .Overall a steal and a Gem for 24 dollars ,for good golfers the greens is where it all comes down to .Get them up on the Stimpmeter to a 9 at least....Thank You For the place for us to enjoy

Horror Show
The absolute worst course I have ever played. If your buddy offers to pay and pays for 24 beers then maybe but man it’s bad.

Good Value
You get to play for a great price. Are the fairways perfect,? No, but they are green and firm. Are the greens large and well manicured? No, they are small, slow and have some weeds, but they did roll pretty fair. The holes aren't moved and the edges are pretty rounded of and overgrown. So, expect a couple strokes lost on the greens and don't get frustrated about it. All that stuff is overshadowed because the office staff is friendly, the maintenance crew is courteous, and the price is a steal. I love coming out here because it is always quiet, laid back, and tougher than the distances would suggest.

No ice in coolers
The ice machine was broken that day. The course had coolers scattered around the coarse like most do. Unfortunately none of these had ice. The water was warm since it is June. Other than that, the course was fun.

Not great but not a waste of money
Lady’s tee boxes are horrible and sone greens aren’t the best. But you can see they are working to improve the course.

Great condition
It would be nice to get some rain so the greens could be mowed a little more, otherwise perfect.

Good for a cheap country course
Only complaint is that they needed to have the greens cut. However the course was in alright shape overall. Obviously they had gotten rain as it was pretty wet in areas. Definitely worth the $25 I paid but not more than that IMO.

Golf Course abuse by patrons
There are several holes where new paths are being worn out on & around Tees & Greens both. Otherwise, it is looking really good.
