Legendary Oaks Golf Course
About
Legendary Oaks Golf Club is part of the Lawrence Marshall Family Recreation Center in Hempstead, about an hour northwest of Houston. Stretching to a lengthy 7,061 yards for the back tees, the course boasts several holes that long hitters will enjoy. The layout's par 3s are known to be particularly challenging. The golf course will put your distance to the test but you'll find that accuracy is also needed when negotiating the tighter spots on the course. Water hazards come into play frequently throughout the golf course and there are also many strategically placed bunkers and mature trees to watch out for. Legendary Oaks Golf Club's final hole is a par 4 that demands a tee shot over water while a large willow tree guards the left side and a bunker protects the right. The challenges continue on the uphill second shot.

Golfer Reviews
Not worth the course rate.
If it was not for the cheap price listed on GN, I would not have played. This course is not worth the standard rate which is not the same and the on-line price listed on GN.
Good course for the money.
Best course in the Houston area for the money. Greens are better than average. Overall the course is above average given the economical green fees
I really like the Tuesday and Friday $20.00 green fees for seniors includes the cart. Very playable
The only drawback is the lack of a better snack bar.
Wrong Day Good Experance
It was the snow day, 1st in 8 years. But the coarse was cleared, wind was gentle and the company as always was good.
Great course
My wife and I play this course quite often. Especially when the weather gets cooler. We normally play 18 holes in less than four hours, and we are both between beginners and intermediate golfers. We like to start play on weekday (we’re both retired!) afternoons finishing our round about 5:00 pm. Never are we pushed from overcrowding like most of the northwest Houston courses are. Most of the time, it’s like having the golf course to yourself! The wonderful people they have working in the pro shop are always nice - to say the least. The course is normally in very good condition.
Great golf course !
My family and I have enjoyed your golf course for 2 years now. We have enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the features the course has to offer. The pace of play has never been an issue and is appreciated. Overall your course is A+. Thank you for having a family oriented course to play on. Keep up the great work !!!
The course was in great shape and the staff was great.
The fairways and greens are in great shape. They have obviously put a lot of time and money into the course on the improvements.
Good for the money
We were welcomed by a friendly staff and enjoyed playing the course.
Small print
Watch out for the small print. I got charged a $5 single person cart fee. Pace of play was good for firstc8 holes then got behind a 4 ball that would not let me through even thought they lost touch with the group in front after a couple of holes and were not happy when I as a single jumped a hole ahead. Greens are in good condition but need cutting closer. Far too slow. Probably ok if this is the only course you play.
A fun course to play.
A good course to play with some challenging holes.
Legendary Oaks
Tremendous layout with multiple tees for every player. It’s not in overall perfect condition (ex. some bunkers are in need of care), but the greens are as good they’ve been in a while. I pay $12 plus fees and $5 cart fee since I was a single and that’s a bargain. The ladies working the check in are wonderfully nice. It’s evident the owners have renewed efforts to improve course conditions and that’s great.
Great course for the price
A little bit of a drive but a nice course at the right price
Excellent course for the price of a green fee.
Me and my golf friends have played this course twice in the last few weeks. We enjoyed playing. The greens roll true and fairways are also very playable.
Great value play
This is low key unpretentious course with a good layout, decent greens, a little rough around the edges but overall a good value. The people are friendly and it is easy to pick up a game.
Fun as always!
Really enjoy this course. This is our go to place when Stephen F Austin is closed and that looks to be a while this time.
