About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

Best greens in town
I play public courses all over DFW and Irving Golf Club, as it is known now, has the BEST greens I’ve played on all year right now.
Punch marks are gone, rolling true, I made a bunch of putts today because the ball stayed on line. Treat yourself with a round here. Tell Kim you saw my post haha.

Very nice layout
Course was much better than expected. For $35 - the course was in great shape. Challenging greens; but fairways designed to let you get after it. I enjoyed it very much.

Fun Layout
Fairways are wide and greens very approachable. Hole 2 green is back in good shape. Greens roll true. Enjoyed the round.

Thank you Kim for your hospitality and generosity to me as my first time playing this course. I arrived at the course before sunrise but had a late morning t-time. Kim gave me a large bucket of balls and a bottled water until my t-time. Kim said to take advantage of the range, chipping area, and putting green. I highly recommend this course but Kim made this course even better with her management. Thank you Kim.

Greens look great
Greens were in great shape, however, the fairways had hard ground and rough was not well taken care of

No fly rule in September
I'd previously reviewed this course in August 2020. Over one year later, I didn't notice the flies on the back nine that I had previously.
Price of round is after a discount code.
My aged GPS watch was good for the front 9 as long as I dialed in holes 10-18.
For those of you who are not fans of courses that run through neighborhoods, this is the course for you! It's a pretty open course in general.
Some of the tee boxes were dried out and the fairways appeared a little dry. On this date, the starter informed us that the greens were running a 10 on the stimpmeter.
Compared to August 2020, there were 3-5 watercoolers on the course. Bottled water was still provided prior to the round. There was access to bathrooms at some point on both nines.

Everything was great, except we had to call the clubhouse twice about golf carts dying. Not a huge inconvenience, the course was in good condition for the end of Texas summer. I would play again!
