About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

Great Shape
Course is in great shape and is one of my favorite places to play but a couple of the on-course management staff were being a little bit of a butt hole in that the group that I joined up had a senior who was also an amputee in it and they just seemed to keep coming up and harassing us about how he was parking too close to the greens and that he should be only doing 90 degrees on the fairways, etc.,etc. The didn't hit the ball very far but he tried to drive in the rough when possible but it just seemed a little bit over the top to me. And I saw other groups not doing 90 degrees all of the time and they never appeared to have approached them. Otherwise, it was a good day to play golf.

Good
The course was in good shape. The green were actually really good. I could spin the ball back when needed and the puts were fast with no bounce.

First time, but not last
First time playing IGC. Friendly inside staff and beverage gal came around about 4 times. Greens were in excellent shape. It was cart patch only and could have been 90 degree rule since it was sunny and windy. Really enjoyed the course and look forward to returning. Only complaint…cart paths are in need of repair.

Nice Friday Social Round
Played Friday morning. There had been significant rain during the week and course was therefore cart path only. Checkin was friendly (as always). Fairways were in good condition considering the rain. Greens were excellent and pretty fast. Pace of ply was about 4hours 20 mins but this was mainly due to cart path only rules. The group in front held us up a few times but nothing horrible

Horrific staff at a middle tier muny

This place is poorly run that I am embarrassed for them. I have played golf for 45 years and never have I had someone ask to see my receipt twice. Literally on the second tee someone was badgering me to dig up my receipt. Their reasoning was that too many people sneak onto the course. Furthermore they wouldn’t allow a charge on your bank account to be shown on your phone as proof of payment. The actual receipt ….a piece of paper. This is the second decade of the 21st century. Adding insult to injury they let a twosome that finished 18 cut in front of us on ten. We had been waiting on every green and tee. Of all the Colligan redone courses I have played this is by far the weakest. That being said it is ok and the greens are really nice. The course is a middle tier muny asking more money than it’s actually worth.
I won’t be back. No one has to respect me but disrespecting me ain’t gonna happen twice.
Don’t leave keys in the carts!!!!!!!!!
Pay a green fee and receive a cart key!!!!!!
What a concept that might eliminate the paranoia……….

Good course, unfriendly staff!
Overall the experience was average, good course with a fun layout. Pretty open for beginner golfers but can be challenging from the back tees for your more experienced players. However, the staff is very unfriendly and act like they are working at Augusta National… I am all for keeping high standards/expectations for your club, but let’s not lose the fact that you are a city course in Irving Texas. Courses like this are the reason young people are not getting into the game and having fun playing the game we all love.

Great course hampered by slow play
Course is in great shape. Marshal and starter were friendly. Food after the round was tasty. Pace of play was irritating. Several times we finished one hole and we’re stacked behind 2 groups at the next tee box. Would have rated overall higher if the pace of play want so poor
