About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

Staff is over the top friendly and accommodating. Teaching Pro Robert McMillan makes a point to say hello to as many golfers as he can. Course redesign and upkeep are top notch. A gem!

Rude staff but love the course layout
Love the layout of this course but don’t play on a windy day. Very open layout and can’t hide from the wind on most holes.
Sadly had some bad interactions with the staff. When I checked in the lady Berated mean for using GolfNow instead of just calling them. She kept trying to tell me I over paid and that they didn’t make any money if I use GolfNow. Wasn’t very professional.
Then out on the course on the back nine the Greenskeepers were out mowing instead of waiting for me to get off the green one actually started to mow the fringe while I was trying to chip. Just really bothered me I stop playing for about five minutes just to let them get on by me.

Super windy, and super fun.
Great value course for the money. Fairways for the most part where in good shape for winter conditions, with just a couple soggy spots. Greens are super fast, pool table like.
Due to the wind conditions there weren’t many brave enough to play, and so had no issues with pace of play, Irving GC has done a great job cutting down the dead vegetation along holes, even when the wind pushed shots offline, most where playable. For a mid-high handicap on tough conditions, that made the day a lot more fun.
Had a blast, definitely would recommend.

Great value

Winter was hard on the course
Played here last summer and considered it a hidden gem in the Metroplex. The Winter was hard on the course. Not really worth playing in its current condition…

decent course for the price you pay
"links" style golf at the center fo DFW metroplex. Expect very windy conditions. Course was in decent shape for this time of the year. Bunkers were a bit mudy (not fine sand) and greens were very slow. Could benefit from mowning and rolling.

Very walkable
Good conditions for winter. Very walkable. Pace of play was good for a Saturday. Finished 9 in less than 2 hours walking.

Great course
We enjoyed the course, great layout, staff was friendly, kind of jumpy at first, but only cause of previous customers, after they were super friendly with us, great people, and definitely worth it

Nice Course
-Greens were in good shape.
-Tall rough has been mowed down (easy to find wayward shots).
-Tee boxes were fairly hard.
-Sand was very good!
Lots of water, some deceptive holes--especially on tee shots but the free app for the course is a major plus in figuring out distances since my Garmin watch hasn't kept up with the course remodel and flip/flop of the 9's.
-Shot an 80...sooooooo close....

Don’t lose your receipt
Course is in good shape, some crab grass on greens but overall solid. Staff and pace of play are lacking. For some reason they ask for your receipt a bunch, seem to be stuck in time…..

I've been living in DFW for 9.5 years and never played this course. I love the layout and the gorgeous view of the downtown Dallas. Kim, in the clubhouse, is a sweetheart and the rest of the staff are friendly and great. I definitely look forward to another round @ Irving Golf Club, thank you!
