Irving Golf Club

About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

Rained Out After 3 Holes
It's a solid course. Rain, hail and lightning started after playing 3 holes so the course blew the horn. The driving is only available in the morning due to not having a workable ball retriever machine. The guy could only pick up 4 or 5 balls at a time.
Driving range closed. Ripped up tee boxes.
The greens always seemed to be aerated. The tee boxes are completely ripped up and hard as a rock. And the driving range be closed randomly in the middle of the day. The front staff just says “sorry that’s what you get for this price”.
Pace of play issues
This is my second time playing this course. The first time, I had to walk off after 9 due to the slow pace of play. It was a 4:45 round with waiting on every single hole. Greens were punched and they still charged full price which is ridiculous as well. Would not recommend unless you have 5 hours of your life to waste.
Very nice course!
Great shape, staff was awesome! We will be golfing here regularly!
Punched greens
Just a heads up greens weee pinched, still a great course just going to be bumpy for a few weeks
Awesome golf day!
Played early on a beautiful day. The course was a little wet due to recent storms but overall the conditions were good. The course is fairly open but definitely provides some hidden challenges. The greens are smooth and fast. The perimeter rough is unforgiving so accuracy is a must to record a good score. Our entire group enjoyed the experience and we have lab to make this course a regular stop.
Solid course
Greens are fast. There are 4 or 5 beautiful holes. Cool views of downtown Dallas if you play at sunset. Overall, I’d recommend giving it a shot!
Not ideal, not bad
I played this course for the first time after a weekend of rain. There were extra water obstacles here and there but the course still felt great from the T box. I am actually looking forward to playing again before the heat hits us.
A Must Play Muni
This is a fun, wide open, well conditioned course that was a lot of fun to play. Elevation changes, brush and just a few water obstacles provide the challenge. Greens are good and tricky. Carts have GPS. Practice facilities include several putting greens and a full size driving range off the grass or mats. Staff were friendly and I paired up with another guy who made the day a blast. Relax with some food and grab a seat in the rocking chairs.
Overpriced, Obstinate Staff, No Etiquette
Awful course conditions, several areas entirely unplayable due to giant holes dug up in fairways and around greens. Greens are so fast you might as well just pick up and go. No one on the course including the employees had any idea about golf etiquette. Sickening to pay money for such a poorly run course.
