WORST course in DFW
They should shut down or pay golfers to come play!
Stay Away
We played on a Sat morning and the tee boxes looked like rough on other courses. Grass clippings littered the fairway which there was no distinction between it and the rough. Greens were automatic 2 putt as they were thick, not mowed and unputtable. All in all, an awful experience especially for $55 / ea. They should have payed us to play there. The layout has promise but management needs to pay up otherwise give it back to nature and the rabbits.
Stay Away
This is by far the most let go golf course I’ve ever played. Fairway drives were meaningless because you could not find you balls. It was like playing in a pasture. It was bad when the neighborhood home lawns were better kept than the course. If this course actually put in an effort to take care it might be worth the money. Overall the course is not taken care. Stay ways don’t waste your money
Not Good
Fairway was not mowed for what seemed like months. Greens were just the same type of grass as fairways, just cut shorter, or there was no grass on the greens at all. Restrooms were dirty . We were lied to upon check in about course conditions when we specifically asked. We will never go back to this course, it was terrible! I will be seeking a refund for this disaster of a so called golf course!
Do not play here
This is more of a field with 18 holes in it than an actual golf course
I’m saddened
I vaguely remember this course from when I was in my 20’s, and while it was never an upper tier course, it was something that this small town could be proud of. I honestly believe that the problems that this course is suffering is largely just due to mismanagement from ownership. That being said, I will likely play there again in the future, as it’s just 2 miles from my house.
Greens are like bumpy carpet
It was a great day for golf. We had the course to ourselves for the most part. That was nice. The bad: half of the tee boxes weren’t mowed and the greens are terrible. And when you order off of tee time the carts aren’t included. $16 extra. I would not play this course again for $56 I’ll play other courses that maintain there course.
Awful/Waste of Money
The owners really need to lower the prices if they have any hope of reviving this course. No one is going to pay $40 to play on a course this bad. Yes it’s THAT bad. Weeds growing out of the greens. Can barley tell the fairways from the rough. It’s a shame because it has potential but nobody should have to pay $40 for this. I’d be hesitant to pay $25 for this course. Save your money people
Post Christmas Round
Traveled to Ft Worth for the Christmas Holidays and was blessed with nice weather. Tee times were difficult to come by. The only available was Mountain Valley. Great value for a Sunday at $36.00. The course was challenging, nice layout, good pace of play. The greens were not the best but considering the time of year, tolerable.
Good course, terrible prices & rules
I have been playing MV for years. New owner bought a couple years ago. Has been bringing course back to life after previous let course go a bit. I live in this neighborhood but a few things are making a lot of people drive 5-15 miles away just to not play this course. Pro shop employee has no patience and is rude (He has always been on edge with previous owner to). Next is the cart fee. This is another reason people are not going there. Say I buy a $45 game of golf for 18 holes. If anyone that wants to go with me that doesn’t even play golf and just wants to ride (my wife, kid, dad, grandpa, friend) still has to pay to ride on that cart I just paid for. They are not playing they are simply riding for fun and enjoying the day. The owner has made a cart fee $20-25 just to sit there and watch. Blames it on insurance. While any other course in this area does not charge for a rider just riding. This is why we don’t waste our money at this course anymore. If my 80 year old grandpa wanted to ride and the owner said $20 to him he would laugh in her face. He can’t even swing a club anymore. Very poor customer service. When she dries up all the players and no one wants to play there anymore over a rider fee she will learn. Maybe she needs to call any course in dfw that doesn’t screw people and get their opinion because the people that actually live in MV don’t even want to play there. It’s embarrassing and disgusting. Another reasoning is any course out here in dfw has hot deals on golf now with cart included. If you buy a $35 hot deal from this place the cart isn’t included so get ready to spend another $15-20 on a cart. Another reason people are done going here. That’s the point of a hot deal is to get a good deal on the whole package including everything not paying $35 to walk 18 holes that’s a terrible deal. The new owner really needs to call other courses around here and get opinions because they’re losing business like this. If they want to fit in great if not one day she’ll understand and have to sell out and I’ll buy it from them.
Mountain Valley
Very Flat and limited hazard. Fairways were good and yardage markers very visable. Most Greens needed work, but still enjoyed the round. I would play again, but if greens were in same condition, I would not go a third time.
Meh
Greens were either very furry or burnt to h$&@. For $45 it was not worth it. $20 maybe.
they charge extra for cart ($15.00) when use online service!
wont play there again because of the added cart fee!
