About
From the tips, Kings Creek can play particularly tough because of the prevailing winds off the shores of Cedar Creek Lake. However, on calm days this course can be had, since the layout is fairly basic and features water on only six holes. In the late 1980s, the course became known for its improving condition, and that reputation has held true over the years.
The front nine is shorter and a little easier than the front, its toughest hole being the 200 -yard No. 3 over water. No. 14 typifies the longer back: a 576-yard marathon with water on either side of the fairway.
Getting there : From Dallas, take I-175 south, then turn right on Hwy. 274. The course is 2 miles down the road.

Don’t go
This place appears to be up for sale; there was a for sale sign in the 12th tee box. The fairways and tee boxes have not even mowed in quite some time, grass is really tall in places. It’s like playing in a cow pasture. Greens are beyond horrible, no sand in the bunkers. I could go on, but I think everyone gets the picture.
Down grade!
Sad to see this course fall apart since new owners. Owners have done the minimum to keep the course afloat. Greens are awful, fair ways are not maintained with massive ruts and pot holes and not mowed down. Tee boxes are destroyed and un level. There are no proper drainage and ponds over fill and flood parts of course and cart path. Also, cart path are in terrible shape busted and un level. Club house has very little section in snacks, drinks, or even merchandise. There is always new staff members, smells like smoke throughout and older gentleman sitting around just stares you down walking through. Truly sad cause the layout is challenging and has potential to be a great course again. For now if I go it will be to fish.

Trash!
This course is like someone’s backyard. Worst course I’ve played and for the price it was ridiculous. The fairways look like pastures and the greens have never been kept they are full of weeds.

Course is Terrible Shape
Course is in very rough shape, large cracks in the fairway large enough to swallow balls, greens covered in rough weeds, and poorly marked tee boxes. Even with the current Texas draught, this course is much worse than courses that charge a similar rate. I appreciate the friendliness of the staff but that doesn't make up for the poor course conditions.

The fairways are cracked and wrecked by this heat wave. Staff is very friendly but the course is in rough shape

Course conditions
Fairways and greens are rough but they just need rain.
Truly awful condition but nice people
This course was probably nice 40 or 50 years ago. But seems like nothing has been done to it since. It was like playing in the middle of a field…even when I was in the fairway. Sand traps were really weed traps and the cart trails resembled a war zone. Even though it was really cheap, it wasn’t worth the time or money unfortunately. Very nice people though, which counts for something.

Course is in rough shape.
Kings creek is always about bang for your buck, it's cheap to play there, so you're not expecting a perfect course. That being said, it's currently in very rough shape. The greens have very little grass, it's mostly sand, to the point that the ball hops when putting, instead of rolling. The bunkers are rock hard and overgrown with weeds. The fairways have pretty tall grass, to the point that you can actually lose your ball in the middle of the fairway. It's still cheap fun, but I wouldn't take your game seriously if you decide to play.

Course has interesting design and layout.
Recommend playing course once to understand fairways and hazards. Keep eyes open, did have a friendly encounter with a Copperhead. However, I was in his backyard.
