Country View Golf Club
About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

5.5 hrs pace unacceptable
No Marshall's, no hole 7, probably won't be going back in foreseeable future
Horrible
Diving range is over grow. Tee boxes look like my back yard when I forget to mow. Most of the fairways are hard dirt. It looks like this course would have been good 40 years ago but it is not anymore. The only thing that I wasn’t horrible was the greens.
Elevated greens
Greens were in good shape but tee boxes were not
The grass on he first tee was about 6-8 inches long and no other tee box had enough grass to set a ball on
I have played this course for years and by far the worst it has been
It’s okay!
It’s not a bad course just needs some work. We wanted to try a new place but there’s many more options that are a little better closer to us
Needs help
Good value but not in good condition with a bridge out and thin grass. Some green slopes make it silly at times.
Disappointed
Country View may have been a nice course at one time, but not anymore. The course conditions are not very good and much of it is in complete disrepair. The staff was friendly and did their best to provide the best experience possible.
Had great round fun course and challenging but not bad
Tough but Great Course
Course was tough with greens being elevated and plenty of water hazards. Course itself was nice with views, good fairways, and greens were fast.
Very slow play
We started at 12:50 front nine played in approximately 2 hours. We had a group come up at 12:40 and said their tee time was 12:20. We should have sent them back to clubhouse. We were nice said you can go. No marshall all day until dusk to get the carts in should have been in at 5:15 sunset 5:30. If he had been doing his job all day we should of had plenty of time to finish. There was still daylight and he would not let us finish 18. I would not play this course
Good Value Golf Course
This course was a unique layout but all the grass was dead when I played it. Not sure if it’s like this year around but the only positive thing was the greens were all green and had a decent roll to them. Most of the lakes out here were dried up and looked like they haven’t had water in them for years. Overall the golf course was fun to play and when I played it you can’t beat $27 dollars for golf with a cart. Would like to see more green grass on this course but maybe in the summer time it’s gets a little better.
Great staff and well upkept course with amazing greens. Would recommend to anyone!
Good Course for the Price!
Hole #7 was under maintenance so it was confusing getting around the course. Greens were in great condition and were fast. This is a great course for how cheap it was. Pace of play was horrendous though, lots of beginner golfers in front of us shanking them into the woods so round took a long time.
Wasn’t pleased
If you’re looking for a 7 hour round this is the place for you. No marshal to keep pace. Tee times stacked like cord wood
Expected course to be in better shape based on reviews.
Challenging course.
You pay for what you get for
That was gonna be my first and last visit. I will never come back here the carts don’t have coolers the course don’t have cold water cooler , rough is terrible, The lakes are dry.. some greens are cut and well maintained other… are below average.
Carts don’t have score cards and are dirty.
No cart girl either… the pace of play is crazy they will put walkers in front of you … you can’t bring your drinks either so …
To be fair 2 stars.
Good, not great
Greens and fairways are really nice. I just felt the layout was odd. Cart paths and scenery was pretty low/mid. Rancid smells on a few holes from standing water.
