About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Second try
So I decided to give this course another try. After a bunch of rain…. Staff was way better than my first trip. Super nice.. went to the first tee about 15 min early to wait for the group I was being paired with. 2 guys were nice.. not good golfers but enjoyed there company. The course was actually decent. Soft and slow but not bad. The two guys I played with wanted the whites so I said no big deal… not realizing each par 4 ave 280 yds, par 3’s were ave 110 yds.. and the par 5 (think there was only one) wad 430 yds. Even from the tips this course is short. I think I hit my driver maybe 2 times. The layout looks like a farmer armature style course.. I mean for the price and for practice wasn’t bad. But not how I would like to spend my weekend on the course. I love a challenge and this course was just not it.

Disappointing
Everything aspect of this course is substandard on worse course is Waxahachie Golf Course!

This is a great course to be in our back yard.
This is a great course and greens are in great shape for this time of the year. It’s not the longest but you will have to work for your score. The greens are all elevated and this will test your short game if greens are missed. Fantastic golf course and it will always challenge you and your group. Worth the trip and we always enjoy playing rounds here. All the ground’s crew do a great job on this course. The Pro shop crew here are all great. Keep up the great work.

Overall great condition
The overall pace of play was great, had one group infront of us that was on the green everytime we went to tee off, and nobody behind us breathing down our necks. The course is dry just like everything right now, but the greens where in some of the best shape I’ve seen them. Greens were soft with medium speed. Overall a great round with good buddies.

Good for the money
First, I’d like to compliment Country View on having excellent quality greens despite a hot, dry summer. Great work!
This course would get 5 stars if they could find a way to add some length and add some sand traps.
This is a good course for juniors and beginners to learn at, but the above improvements would make this a better course for intermediate to advanced skill level golfers.

Great course
I have only played this course twice but enjoyed both times. The course is in good shape especially since we have had little rain. Other courses in the area are letting the fairways go brown, not here though. Not all green and lush but better than most. Not a long track but the elevated greens will make you work for your score. I will be playing this course more often.

Pace of Play
The Marshal dos not pay attention to the pace of play, large groups do not let smaller, faster groups play through.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Had a great time at the golf course.
Could have been better if the Marshal was out there helping the pace of play. There was a large group ahead of us that did not let us go through! We were only two golfers and the group ahead of us were 4. There were several other groups behind us also held back because of the large group not letting anyone play through.

Drought Baked
It is a very mediocre test of golf - short - only one par 5 - greens are okay very long and slow
The heat in Texas has done a job on this course — poor outlay

Horrible staff
So I booked a hot deal… showed up and he said I was paired with a single and had to ride together… I asked to purchase my own cart and he stated it was 25$. I asked where my partner would be. He said idk. No one was on the tee and told him it’s 1240 have to play alone and still had to pay thd 25$ for my cart. I played 4 holes and left. Form what I played this course isn’t watered so I used a 3 wood and still reached 300 yds. Greens were pretty good. That’s the only thing about this place I liked. I just never understand why golf courses cannot have customer serviced. This is why I love prairie lakes golf course. I won’t play here again.
