About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Long Drives
Overall good course conditions. Fairways a bit dry so Long Drives were a plus.

Terrible Staff
The management for this course is so power hungry we were stuck behind a slow playing duo which was fine and we let a single join our foursome so he wouldn't have to wait even longer and the management threatened to kick us out, stating we were breaking the rules by playing 5 but we were just trying to help the pace of play overall. We spoke with the group behind us after we let the single play through and had to wait for him to at least reach the green to make this power hungry super happy. They stated that they have seen him do that every weekend for a variety of different things that many courses let slide because we are all there to have fun playing the game. Would not recommend this course to anyone!

Great Experience
We played here on Sun 09/18/22. It was our first time. It was a great experience and we will come back. The course layout is a little bit shorter with par 70, but there were plenty of opportunities to hit the driver. Not nearly as annoying as some shorter courses I have played. It's a fun layout due to the elevated greens. Par 3's were mostly short, which I was fine with. The service was great. Jonathon the manager was really nice to greet us and tell us about the course. Everyone else was very nice too, service really seemed above most courses in DFW.

Second try
So I decided to give this course another try. After a bunch of rain…. Staff was way better than my first trip. Super nice.. went to the first tee about 15 min early to wait for the group I was being paired with. 2 guys were nice.. not good golfers but enjoyed there company. The course was actually decent. Soft and slow but not bad. The two guys I played with wanted the whites so I said no big deal… not realizing each par 4 ave 280 yds, par 3’s were ave 110 yds.. and the par 5 (think there was only one) wad 430 yds. Even from the tips this course is short. I think I hit my driver maybe 2 times. The layout looks like a farmer armature style course.. I mean for the price and for practice wasn’t bad. But not how I would like to spend my weekend on the course. I love a challenge and this course was just not it.
