About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Not bad
Country View is a great layout and the greens are in great shape. Tee boxes, fairways, and rough are the only issue. There’s simply no turf as of yet. Areas around the greens are good and if the fairways could at least get to that point we’d have something very nice at Country View. Great value and very friendly staff.

Like being way out in the country!
It's early march 9, 2021 so the fairways an greens aren't at their best yet. Some suggestions: It would be nice to have signs at the tees showing distances from the tee boxes. A few more ball washers are needed. The tee boxes are very hard and need attention (not much grass)

A great value
First time playing here and do recommend it as a great value1 Drove 35 miles to play it and thought it was time well spent.
Greens rolled very fast and were in excellent shape. The greens are all elevated and some with extreme elevation. In the winter the rough around the greens is hard and will stop only the slowest balls rolling on the greens. I would not recommend this course in the winter or a beginner learning to chip and pitch. All bunkers are grass bunkers.
My playing partner was thinking of joining. Membership seems like a great deal doe someone 10 mins away!.. Grass driving range, nice practice green, electric carts. pin sheets, friendly staff.
The opening holes seem to be bottle neck. Played 3.5 hours of daylight and got 17 holes in..
Kitchen was closed at the turn, but it still is a time of COVID.
Bottom line is it is a great value Very nice greens, friendly staff, and fun layout.

Course was dry and hard. Each green was elevated a bunch. If your approach shot landed on the fringe, forget it. Your ball would end up 40 feet off the green and you would be pitching the ball up 20 feet to a blind shotTee boxes were so hard it was difficult to get a tee in the ground. This might be a course that would be ok if you are a 2 handicapper but for me at a 14 handicap it was a beating. Luckily it was a hot deal on golf now for $16.99. At regular rates it would feel like robbery.

Its difficult to give this course lower marks strictly on what i saw. I would like to point out the staff were all friendly and helpful. The course itself needed a lot of work and cleanup which is where the lower marks come in. It is winter so i am not going to harp on the fact that i dont think there were any live blades of grass anywhere on the course. The tee boxes were very poorly kept. Huge divots all over and broken tees littered the ground everywhere. The fairways blended in to the surroundings due to the lack of separation. The creek was a crystal clear water surrounded by mounds of trash that littered the banks. The ponds were confusing as some were ok and others were dry and littered with trash including old tires. “The Greens” were lacking but yet pin locations were somewhat challenging. Many holes were lined with beer cans and someone had even dumped their lunch container by one of the tee boxes instead of putting it in the trash can. It would be easy to say the course is failing at upkeep but when the players/members treat it like they do then they are causing the self infliction upon the course. The layout of the course is fairly simple and straight forward which makes it good for newer to average golfers. The price was right which also makes it a great value for newer or average golfers. My overall thoughts are that i would not play this course again until it is cleaned up from the garbage and from the individuals that are disrespecting the course as well as the game.

Nice find
I have played this course twice a couple months apart and have been impressed both times. Staff is friendly and course is well maintained. Bonus points for grass driving range and reasonably priced bar/food options. Elevation changes keeps the course interesting but is playable for all handicaps.
