About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

It had been a couple years since I had played here. Coarse was in really good shape, fairways were excellent for the time of year. Greens rolled true. I had a great day of golf
Very surprised
I was not expecting much when we booked this course last second... but what a pleasant surprise. This course is a lot bang for your buck. Greens are excellent but very challenging. Almost every green is elevated which forces you to hit accurate irons into them. This is a fun course.

Disappointing!
Today's round was extremely disappointing. Course was overcrowded, round took 5 hours, very dry tee boxes to the point you couldn't even get a tee in the ground, and staff was rude to one of the members in our group. Have played this course many times over the years and this was the most disappointing I have seen the course. Hopefully whoever is running this course takes notes from the reviews. Things need to change and need to change quickly.

Staff is friendly and professional. Course is well managed for this time of year. Noticed some improvements to cart path pot holes etc...

Surprisingly difficult!
Overall great experience. Some tough pin placements. Each hole was quite tricky. Summary: pleasantly surprised!

Very slow pace of play.
Greens were in great condition! Only complaint today was that the pace of play was extremely slow.

Good Value
Course layout was very questionable and not very player friendly. Elevated Greens and super fast conditions made it increasingly frustrating as we realized each hole was like or worse than the previous one.
Grass condition was incredibly dry and the pair in front of us had little to no regard with Pace of Play etiquette. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We got a good price for it and had a good time. Definitely not our favorite course but offers a challenge and something different for everybody.

Good not great.
For the discounted price, this course isn’t bad. It needs a little TLC but overall in decent condition. There are ZERO sand traps on the course. The water holes are dried up lake beds. The greens on 2, 3 and 4 are elevated and challenging! Greens were in really good shape and challenging.
Pace of play on the front was quick. Once we hit the 11th hole there was a 6 cart back up (1 foursome and 1 twosome).
Overall this was a pleasant experience. I won’t go out of my way to play here again but I would not mind playing here again.

Nice value
The greens were in decent shape and rolled smooth. In fact the greens are in better shape than any other part of the course. Tee boxes and fairways are very patchy. The value is good The quality of course matches the price. My green fee was $18 before tax and fees.

Good Value - Fun Round
Good value course, nice condition, a little slow play (which could have been just busy at noon on a Saturday). Played once before in early spring when it seemed not as 'kept up' but was better this time. Would definitely play again.
