About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Course is Good, but poorly managed.
Course was a little rough, but overall in good condition. Greens roll fast and true. Pace of play was atrocious. Management refuses to enforce pace of play and was extremely rude. Got kicked off of the 18th hole half way through by the manager with plenty of daylight left because he said that “the course was closed”. We were refused a refund for the remainder of the round. Will not play this course again, and would not recommend it to any person who wishes to be treated with respect.
Waste of time, and lots of it
CV used to be a pretty good little country course with excellent greens and a challenging layout. Been playing here for 15 years. Ever since the City and then the management group took over it's a joke. Greens fair at best, fairways are dirt and pace of play rediculous. Do yourself a favor, play somewhere else.
Great course for the price!
The course is always fun and usually in great condition. The freeze must have hurt them recently but still worth the money! Only complaint if any is pace of play and the fact people drive on the green occasionally.
Needs some work in the tees and fairways
A difficult course if you aren’t sure where you are going, especially in the winter without a map showing the yardage to trouble spots. The positives are a very friendly staff and superb, true greens that roll very fast. New carts and good cart paths provide for a better experience
True Greens
Overall, Country View is a fun course. Most, if not all of the greens, are elevated and true. Approach shots have to be on target, or you will roll off into trouble. Dormant conditions make for harder shots that are off the fairway. New golf carts are an added bonus for the value. Driving range could use better hitting surface and golf balls!
Greens are in great shape.
The course is really well maintained. New carts are awesome. Staff are friendly and on top of things.

I really enjoy this course! Lots of fun and very pretty!
Hole 10 tends to eat my lunch but that’s just me.
My three friends I play with do well.
The driving range could use some work but overall great course and great staff!
Great, Fun Course
We tried this place for the first time because of the recent reviews. We found the greens to be the best in the DFW area. Extremely true, although none of putted that well.
We will be back in the Spring to see what it looks like with green grass and leaves on the trees! Or we may be back sooner.
Plus, the folks there are the best. Give it a try. I bet you won't be disappointed.
