Country View Golf Club
About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Golf Now Round
Using Golf Now makes this a place to play otherwise overpriced for this course.
Tee boxes not manicured and loaded with weeds. Greens were in great shape. Counter staff always friendly. Manager never speaks or acknowledges guest.
Great value
The course is in pretty good shape. Remodeling the #7 hole but turned into a temp part 3 was fine and felt fine. The issue that keeps this course from a 4-5 star is it is just a personal preference . The greens and course itself were in good shape, but I just am not a fan of elevated greens. The greens are relatively small and pretty firm . Having them elevated adds a degree of difficulty that is not really in line with the player base it directed toward. 9 or 10 greens that are elevated. Some over 15-20ft higher than the fairway so all shots just off the green rolls down sometimes 30yrds down a hill and fairway or water. Greens will usually always be minus ball mark bumps which is good but it's because they are firm. Overall It's a really good course for the value . It is a great course for the casual player to get out there and hit the links but can be frustrating. That is how golf is anyway so come out and slap it around here if you want to have a good conditioned course with friendly service and the restaurant open all the time.
suffering
I have played Countryview for over a decade, and it is currently in the worst shape I have ever seen it. The greens have invasive foreign grass and are spotty(have always had really nice greens). Pace of play was horrible... predominantly held up by inconsiderate golfers who are unaware of etiquette. Last but not least, fairways are struggling. Countryview has always been one of my favorite go to's....hopefully it gets back to shape.
Why no restrooms on Course?
Manager always goes to his office when people come in, never speaks or greets you. Pro shop and grill people are very nice.
Why won't they fix the restrooms on the course. Bridge to hole 7 has been out for a long time, no signs of work. Greens are the only thing kept up. Building and carts could use some extra TLC.
Sunday fun.
Staff was very friendly. Course didn't have any open tee times. Challenging course with plenty of hazards. Overall a nice place to play.
It’s ok
Course needs some work. Tight lies everywhere. The greens were in good condition. If they fertilized and irrigated, this could be a really nice course.
5.5 hrs pace unacceptable
No Marshall's, no hole 7, probably won't be going back in foreseeable future
Horrible
Diving range is over grow. Tee boxes look like my back yard when I forget to mow. Most of the fairways are hard dirt. It looks like this course would have been good 40 years ago but it is not anymore. The only thing that I wasn’t horrible was the greens.
Elevated greens
Greens were in good shape but tee boxes were not
The grass on he first tee was about 6-8 inches long and no other tee box had enough grass to set a ball on
I have played this course for years and by far the worst it has been
It’s okay!
It’s not a bad course just needs some work. We wanted to try a new place but there’s many more options that are a little better closer to us
Needs help
Good value but not in good condition with a bridge out and thin grass. Some green slopes make it silly at times.
Disappointed
Country View may have been a nice course at one time, but not anymore. The course conditions are not very good and much of it is in complete disrepair. The staff was friendly and did their best to provide the best experience possible.
Had great round fun course and challenging but not bad
Tough but Great Course
Course was tough with greens being elevated and plenty of water hazards. Course itself was nice with views, good fairways, and greens were fast.
Very slow play
We started at 12:50 front nine played in approximately 2 hours. We had a group come up at 12:40 and said their tee time was 12:20. We should have sent them back to clubhouse. We were nice said you can go. No marshall all day until dusk to get the carts in should have been in at 5:15 sunset 5:30. If he had been doing his job all day we should of had plenty of time to finish. There was still daylight and he would not let us finish 18. I would not play this course
Good Value Golf Course
This course was a unique layout but all the grass was dead when I played it. Not sure if it’s like this year around but the only positive thing was the greens were all green and had a decent roll to them. Most of the lakes out here were dried up and looked like they haven’t had water in them for years. Overall the golf course was fun to play and when I played it you can’t beat $27 dollars for golf with a cart. Would like to see more green grass on this course but maybe in the summer time it’s gets a little better.
