While it hasn't received as much publicity as the other Hill Country tracks since it opened around 1990, Crystal Falls Golf Club is definitely worthy of praise. Highlighted by one of the greatest par 3s in Texas and some outstanding topography, this is one of those courses you'll want to play at least once, if only for the views. In addition to the scenery, the main thing everyone talks about here is the severely sloping fairways that provide problems for those who hit the ball left-to-right. The famous par 3 in question is the 192-yard 11th, featuring a phenomenal view and a 200-yard drop to the green. Club selection is a crap-shoot at best, and the green is surrounded by mounds.

Great course
This is becoming one of my favorite places to play. Other than pace of play, everything was great.
Very Challenging
Wow, I had no idea how challenging this course was when I reserved my tee time. Unlike many of the courses around Austin, if you miss the fairway, you are toast! Even with my slices and hooks, I really enjoy a course that penalizes you when you can't keep the ball in play. Can't wait to return and give it another try!
1pm on a Wednesday, under 4 hours
A couple of the greens had some bad patches, but many of the greens were in great shape. It's a tough layout that makes you focus on playing smart golf
If you love elevation changes this the course
Great course to play! The price is very reasonable for what you get. Challenging elevations. Great Par 3s. Drivable par 4s.
Last round I playrd
I like this course but what I don’t understand is why did the group in front of us take 2 tee shots each on every hole on the back nine? Unbelievable? Where was the Marshall???
The course has a great layout. However the course conditions are not as good as several The greens were in poor shape
Great experience
Loved to layout. Course is genneral in great condition.
The location, hills and narrow fairways with old trees make this course very unique.
Rained out
We got rained out after 11 holes so I didn't get to see all of the back nine.

Improving, but SLOW pace
Course is definitely improving. Greens are nice and rolling well, which is a big upgrade from the last time I played here.
Two big issues:
1) Pace of play. Took 5:15 to play 18 holes. No one on course keeping the pace moving. One tee had 3 groups backed up on it. Need to space out tee times.
2) Range was closed. Yes, it rained a decent amount the day before. But to not even offer mats to warm up on is ridiculous.
Only live 7 minutes away so I'll be back at some point, but won't be in a rush to get there.

Hilly
Great layout and design on this hilly golf course. I was only able to finish eleven holes before rain ended our day but every hole looked fairly straight forward with subtle nuances that would keep you coming back.
