About
While it hasn't received as much publicity as the other Hill Country tracks since it opened around 1990, Crystal Falls Golf Club is definitely worthy of praise. Highlighted by one of the greatest par 3s in Texas and some outstanding topography, this is one of those courses you'll want to play at least once, if only for the views. In addition to the scenery, the main thing everyone talks about here is the severely sloping fairways that provide problems for those who hit the ball left-to-right. The famous par 3 in question is the 192-yard 11th, featuring a phenomenal view and a 200-yard drop to the green. Club selection is a crap-shoot at best, and the green is surrounded by mounds.

Always a Gem
Was lucky enough to be the third tee time of the day. We finished in about 3:30 on. Sunday morning at 7:45. Course is in great shape. Greens are perfect. Second time playing here and getting use to some of the shots that require some course knowledge. Great views and can’t complain except for the range under maintenance til November. Worth the money and can’t wait to play agai.

One of my Favorites
Course layout winds through foothills with many elevation changes. Greens in very nice shape. Rest of course in good shape especially considering how dry it’s been. One of my favorite courses in Austin area! Staff is friendly and always helpful! Only complaint is carts…time for upgrade. Good news is they have gps screen onboard so they where to bring you a fresh cart when yours craps out. Had 2 not make it a full round.

Great layout, very challenging
It was a nice day out playing golf with my boss on the holiday weekend. Everything was good except the absence of a beverage cart to cool down hot players, and very clunky golf carts. Beautiful course in a really great part of town. Decent pace of play for a holiday and friendly staff. Will recommend and will be back

Nice greens are worth the drive.
Fun course with beautiful limestone rock formations. Great use of elevation on a couple par 3s. It is a bit of a drive from Austin, but the course is well maintained and the layout is a lot of fun. The staff was helpful. The one negative was that their driving range is being remodeled. I'm sure it will be nice when it is completed, but for now, it is just a single cage. I will definitely be back.

Great layout
The course is layed out in a hillside setting making it very difficult to find flat lie’s. Lots of elevation changes make for lots of forced carry’s. Super fun

Value
Great value for the price. Hard challenging course. Reputation as hard. The kitties don’t like to play here. Great scenery. Reminds me of Reno Tahoe courses

Could use improvement
While this course was fun to play, There was an hour delay on the tee times due to a shortage of carts. Greens played nice, tee boxes were a little rough, and overall fairways were pretty decent. The hour delay on the tee time was, to me, a big enough problem, as well as the lack of the beverage cart. Now, I can play without drinking, or just wait until I’m about to tee off on the back 9. But on a hot day, nothing is more refreshing then a cold beer. The only time I saw the beverage cart was on hole 4, and didn’t see them at all the rest the day. Now this might not be an issue for some, but I feel like it is worth notating. Overall I would still play this course again as I enjoyed the difficulty and the layout.

Under the hot windy conditions it’s as good as you can expect. Props to the greens keeper for getting the greens punched and a full recovery. Really love the pro shop people & snack bar as well.
