About
While it hasn't received as much publicity as the other Hill Country tracks since it opened around 1990, Crystal Falls Golf Club is definitely worthy of praise. Highlighted by one of the greatest par 3s in Texas and some outstanding topography, this is one of those courses you'll want to play at least once, if only for the views. In addition to the scenery, the main thing everyone talks about here is the severely sloping fairways that provide problems for those who hit the ball left-to-right. The famous par 3 in question is the 192-yard 11th, featuring a phenomenal view and a 200-yard drop to the green. Club selection is a crap-shoot at best, and the green is surrounded by mounds.

Green is good condition.
Like this course. A lot. Very fun and every holes has character .
Only thing is cart girl never come around it you are not allowed to bring anything and no marshals.

Beautiful Course
Crystal Falls is one of the most beautiful courses in the hill Country. The layout is surprisingly diverse and not at all what you would expect in a Leander course..
The conditions were superb when we played on April 27. Greens were consistent and true.
My only complaint was the guidance on the computer. There are several par 4 holes where the driver should stay in your bag. I lost several balls that were hit through the targets. A 180 to 200 drive would have been suffice.
That comment is distance specific and speaks to the difficulty of the course. There is nothing easy about Crystal Falls.

Fun course
I really liked playing here. The course has some really picturesque holes, and despite being shorter has some really difficult undulations. My only gripe was the pace of play. It was Good Friday and there were a ton of groups on the course. It took us 5 hours to play 18. I expect this is not the norm, and I will definitely be playing here again.

Beautiful views but mediocre condition
Beautiful views and rolling hills, but the greens are bumpy and inconsistent. Anything in the rough is basically rocks and pebbles. Pretty ridiculous that there is really not rough of grass. Some of the holes have extreme slants that run the ball off. Also they put the pin positions like it’s Sunday at the Masters. Sort of silly. Lots of hackers here and they set the course up to be even more difficult with the crazy pin positions which slows the already slow players down even more. The views and the drive in is quite beautiful.

A good test
Rolling hills and lots of side slopes. Had some issues with left struck balls ending on right side due to heavy slope. Play was a bit slow but not the worst I’ve had. Round was 4.5 hours on Saturday.
Fairway were good. Greens were fast but true and consistent.

Horrendous pace of play
5:02 to play 18 holes! Terrible. No Marshall! Just a money making machine. Cram as many people on as possible.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Goofy layout and unfriendly staff. Course was aerated and was told at check in by the older gentleman “you’re not good enough to play on a good course anyway”. As a former collegiate all American I found this funny but disrespectful.

Just not taken care of
I’m not a fan of leaving negative reviews ever really, but this was a pathetic excuse for a golf course… Literal mounds of sand across every single green remind me a butlers pitch and putt downtown Austin
