About
While it hasn't received as much publicity as the other Hill Country tracks since it opened around 1990, Crystal Falls Golf Club is definitely worthy of praise. Highlighted by one of the greatest par 3s in Texas and some outstanding topography, this is one of those courses you'll want to play at least once, if only for the views. In addition to the scenery, the main thing everyone talks about here is the severely sloping fairways that provide problems for those who hit the ball left-to-right. The famous par 3 in question is the 192-yard 11th, featuring a phenomenal view and a 200-yard drop to the green. Club selection is a crap-shoot at best, and the green is surrounded by mounds.

Golfer Reviews
Dishonest front desk
I was charged cart fees even though they only had 3-some going out. Front desk lies about 3-other players being checked in before me. I had to pay $18 extra, I’m ok with charge if it is valid and within reason. However, not Ok with feeling cheated.
great use of the land
very hilly course. fairways are all slanted, but they offset that with a relatively short distance. really fun par 3s.

Hi, u000005569189. Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Crystal Falls Golf Course.
Great course in Leander, Texas
First time playing Crystal Falls GC. Excellent set up, scenic views. Holes 2 and 14(?) have beautiful drops. Entire course is fairly exciting for the casual player, short but with tight fairways on the Par 5s.
Club House required masks but did not appear to enforce. I was startled by a group of old folk in bathroom without masks (never mind). Club House needs minor improvements to make it more inviting.
Bunkerless slopefest
This is a course that plays way harder than it looks or should in my opinion. There’s no bunkers but the course is really tight most of the time and lined with trees and native area that’s an absolute golf ball muncher. It’s also so sloped that you’re lucky to have a flat lie even in the middle of the fairway. The greens were really baked out which was fun but also added to the difficulty. Overall it’s a fun, well kept course with a different style of play than almost anything else in the area.
Great Value for the Money
Pros: Course is in good shape. Several holes that are very scenic and fun to play. Pace of play was good on a busy day.
Cons: too many blind shots and fairways that slope towards trouble. Luckily we were paired with someone that knew the course well. Otherwise it would have been a lot more frustrating.
Overall: would recommend Crystal Falls primarily for the scenery and value, especially on the north side of Austin.
FUN and pretty course.
It a very fun course and good condition .
Couple complaints I have is No drinking water is out for course in 100 degrees in Texas no carts come by to buy either...
I understand it COVD19 is issues but giving water and paper cups should be open to it .I feel like lot of golf course are actually lazy and taking advantage of situations to do nothing ..
1st timer
Course in outstanding condition better his that driver straight or bring a lot of balls. Many blind shots best to play with someone who has played the course.
Great fun
Excellent day from arrival to departure. Pro shop got us out early. Marshall got us a handicap flag to allow us to get closer to greens and avoid walking up hills. It’s unforgiving if you miss hit to wrong side. Know where to miss and shots generally work out. Play the tees that match your skill and course becomes fun to play.
