About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

Lake Park is a get what you pay for course but with good conditions. Sadly the lake is up right now which has the range closed, but for $35 for a Sunday afternoon tee time you can’t really beat it. Been playing this course for 10+ years and it’s always in decent shape.

Solid Performer
A nice public course in good condition. Lots of parallel fairways so frequent balls from us and others hit onto wrong fairway. Golf cars work fine but could benefit from a cooler and opportunities for ice at the clubhouse or on the course.

Not bad
I wanted to give 3.5 stars overall but didn’t have the option to do so. Conditions, particularly the fairways, were good. Greens were very slow, but generally were well maintained. I would have given a higher overall rating if the course had a little more character, or was a little more challenging, but almost every hole was straight with little danger. All that being said, I had a good time and might play it again at some point, but I don’t think it will enter my regular rotation.

The grass is green, but…
There’s almost no shade available. And there’s a high risk of being hit by a golf ball from a bad golfer playing a different hole. If affordability is your only criteria, this is your place, otherwise i’d recommend going elsewhere.
How can I get credit?
After tee-up that day, rain clouds came around the end of the second hole, so I came to the clubhouse in a hurry from the third hole, but it rained too much, so I gave up and went to the clubhouse, and they said they couldn't give me a rain check. It's because I booked it on Teeup.com. I feel very bad and I don't want to go again.

Confidence builder
MY friend Jen said she needed a confidence builder this weekend. So we went to lake park in lewisville. This course is as easy and straightforward as golf gets. Every green allows a runup. Few hazards. flat-ish greens. Wide open spaces on all but 2-3 holes. You are more in danger of getting hit with an errant drive than you are losing a golf ball. Short, flat, wide open, all in front of you. The only drawback is a 5 hour round and the amount of alcohol consumed by most groups. We just enjoyed our time sitting around and had cigars and good conversation.

I enjoy playing at Lake Park. I enjoy the fact that you don’t get charged for a golf cart when you are walking. Others, Bear Creek for example, do.

Lake Park 28
I enjoyed playing yesterday. This courses in pretty good shape. It was good value for the money. It’s pretty wide open as far as openness of the fairways, so it’s relatively easy to play. It’s fairly close to home so it’s convenient to drive to for me and my neighbor. I will definitely play it again if and when it fits my schedule.
