About
Lake Park Golf Club is located below the Lake Lewisville dam, and was originally known as Oak Ridge Park. Make sure you warm up before your round, because no. 1 goes 465 yards with water in play off the tee. The next notable hole is no. 8, which offers a nice risk-reward situation with two small ponds protecting the green 312 yards away. With the wind, it is definitely driveable. On Lake Park Golf Club's back nine, no. 10 gives you the option to carry the lake with a 230-yard-plus drive, or lay up and leave yourself with a long approach over the water.

People riding golf carts right next to the green.
How can you not know this even if you don't know the golf rules? Par 3 Hall is only a cart pass no matter which golf course you go, but people who don't know it at all. Yes, I thought it was a video game, so even if there was a divot, I just pretended not to know and didn't hit the ball and organize it in the bunker. It's a golf course like this.

Solid place to work on your game
You wont lose a ball. Fairways are wide. The cost is low. The greens are poor. This place plays to its price though, its a nice way to get out there and play without dropping a ton of money.

Rainy day
Lots of rain for about 30 minutes. They’ve put a good layer of sand on the greens so putting was more of a challenge than normal.

Very Late Start and Slow Round
Didn't start until almost 20 minutes after the scheduled tee time. Other than that it was alright.

Always True
Lake Park is a get what you pay for course but with good conditions. Sadly the lake is up right now which has the range closed, but for $35 for a Sunday afternoon tee time you can’t really beat it. Been playing this course for 10+ years and it’s always in decent shape.

Solid Performer
A nice public course in good condition. Lots of parallel fairways so frequent balls from us and others hit onto wrong fairway. Golf cars work fine but could benefit from a cooler and opportunities for ice at the clubhouse or on the course.

Not bad
I wanted to give 3.5 stars overall but didn’t have the option to do so. Conditions, particularly the fairways, were good. Greens were very slow, but generally were well maintained. I would have given a higher overall rating if the course had a little more character, or was a little more challenging, but almost every hole was straight with little danger. All that being said, I had a good time and might play it again at some point, but I don’t think it will enter my regular rotation.

The grass is green, but…
There’s almost no shade available. And there’s a high risk of being hit by a golf ball from a bad golfer playing a different hole. If affordability is your only criteria, this is your place, otherwise i’d recommend going elsewhere.
How can I get credit?
After tee-up that day, rain clouds came around the end of the second hole, so I came to the clubhouse in a hurry from the third hole, but it rained too much, so I gave up and went to the clubhouse, and they said they couldn't give me a rain check. It's because I booked it on Teeup.com. I feel very bad and I don't want to go again.
