Canyon at Meadowbrook Golf Complex, The
About
The Canyon Course is the original layout at Meadowbrook G.C., with wide-open fairways and hardly any hazards. Designed more for the average golfer, the Canyon features less water than the Creek Course, but more bunkers. Warm up before you tee off on Canyon because you'll need to be loose to reach the 585-yard first hole in regulation.

Not many options in Lubbock
Wont go back . . . even for a municpal course this one was below average. I'll pay 50% more from no on and play the Rawls course at TTech
Sunday morning with my wife
I play canyon about once a week. The conditions are always good. The greens always roll fair, it's always a good time. Canyon is easy enough for my wife to play without getting frustrated before we finish 18.
Canyon corse
I found a hot deal for 10 dollars 18 holes riding. Can't beat that anywhere. The course was nice green a little overgrown in some areas esp hole 8. I hit my second shot just in front of the green. The glass was so thick and long it took me 10 mins to find with help. The only reason we persisted was 3 people seen it land where I described. In the duration of our such we found 4 other balls and then mine. This all occurred 20 feet from the pin approaching the hole not the back side. Greens are a little small and had some deep cuts in them. All in all not a bad course.
Only Option to Play Fast/ Play Now
I knew visiting Meadowbrook would be to get my golf fix. I played as a single in 2 hrs 15 min. everyone on the course was so polite, 2 groups let me pass through.
even the prairie dogs on the 2nd fairway let me play through! (really, they were everywhere). Hit the fairways and greens you will not complain. Thanks Meadowbrook.
Unhelpful staff
We were coming from out of town and were going to be a few minutes late so we called and told them. They said it was fine but when we got there they charged us full price for our golf. We told them that the person we had spoke to on the phone said there was no problem but they still refused to make it right. At full price it's definitely not worth $140 for 4 people.
This course has poor features
The staff was rude! I also ran out of gas in the golf cart on the third hole not a good way to start off your golf game.
Rain Has Improved Course Condidtions
The rain this season has really helped the course out. This course offers the most trees of any public course in Lubbock. Requires a decent amount of accuracy off the tee. A few of both greens and fairways are in bad shape. The rest pretty good. Slow greens. If they could get the greens rolling faster this would be a much more appealing course. Depending on the price though, it can be a good value.
Meadowbrook Lubbock TX.
The course was in decent shape. The rough was very thick and swallowed any balls that missed the fairway. The pin placement on the greens were the toughest I have ever play. Some of the greens were diseased and needed work but overall they were soft but fast. The staff was very unfriendly. I wasn't greeted upon arrival, there were no Marshall on r he course, and we never saw a cart girl. Customer service was lacking big time. Overall decent course and I would play again if I could get another cheap tee time.
Slow Weekend Play
This is a great and challenging course for any golfer. However, if you decide to play in the afternoon, plan on a s-l-o-w and frustrating round. Waiting at every tee box and every fairway on some of the hackers gets frustrating. This course needs to enforce faster play. Why they are the only golf course in Lubbock without a marshall is sad. Our group has often had to call the club house to get someone out on the course to speed up some players and even then, it does not seem to help. S-L-O-W play is killing the fun on this great course.
Great course conditions
The course was in good condition. The rough was rough, but playing from it is not the courses fault. Great value, for a pretty outstanding course.
Creek course
Good layout with lots of potential. Course gets lots of play but needs to be mowed more often. Basic course maintenance could go along way- mowing edging weedeating. Easy to lose a ball not hit in fairway because of irregular mowing. Give the course more "curb appeal" Good layout for lubbock.
Meadowbrook Canyon Golf Course
I enjoyed myself,, the staff was friendly and the pace of play was good
It's getting there
This course was struggling for a while but with new management it is finally getting back to where it should be. The course was in good shape.
Getting greener
Played a few days after Lubbock received 5 inches of rain. Fairways are much improved, couple of greens need repair. The terrain and trees are invaluable and if more money would be budgeted on maintenance, this could be Lubbock Country Club's little brother. I saved 25 bucks by booking online!
Good value for what u pay
The course was in rough conditions, overall it was a good value for the cost of the round.
This is great
It's a really hard course for a first time to play. Enjoyed it. Really busy. Flow needs to be better.
Good time
Fun course to play because there's really no pressure to go extremely fast. Fairways are pretty terrible but it's expected when you pay $10 a round.
sunshine and Birdies
always a fun course to play, as the rain continues to bless the Lubbock area the Canyon and creek courses will only get better. The canyon course is more fun in my opinion with its elevated tee boxes and major ungelation changes throughout the course. greens are already in good shape and getting better..
meadowbrook Creek
Course was in much better condition than last time played 3 wks ago. Since we have drought and hot then cold days this year. Will return to play.
