Canyon at Meadowbrook Golf Complex, The

About
The Canyon Course is the original layout at Meadowbrook G.C., with wide-open fairways and hardly any hazards. Designed more for the average golfer, the Canyon features less water than the Creek Course, but more bunkers. Warm up before you tee off on Canyon because you'll need to be loose to reach the 585-yard first hole in regulation.

Fun course, great rate
I was pleasantly surprised to find the course in pretty good shape considering the very little rain we’ve had. Greens were fantastic and I could tell the grounds crew has been putting in a lot of hard work. The rate I got was exceptional but the pace of play could have been a little better. I’ll definitely play here again.
Twilight Fees
$16 for a twilight round. No gripes here. Honestly the Creek course is best it’s been in years.
Great value.
Greens were pretty well maintained and the course was fun to play. Great for young golfers too.
Nice time
Course is in good shape for as little rain as we’ve had. Pace of play was good except for one foursome toward the end that wouldn’t allow faster, smaller groups to play through. They must have had money on each hole as long as they were on the green. Clubhouse staff was friendly and helpful.
Best condition I’ve seen it BUT…hawks
This is by for the best condition I’ve seen this course in. I’ve played this course several times and it’s always been “get what you pay for“ but I was really pleased to see how green it was and how well taken care of it was. There are definitely some improvements here and there but for what I paid and the lack of rain, it was fantastic.
BUT!!! Holes 12 through 17 are infested with hawks. Usually hawks don’t startle me much. However, one dove at my head while I was attempting to play a shot and I literally had to dive out of the way. I quickly moved away from that area and while I was putting on the green another one started diving towards me again. Over the next few holes hawks were flying all around and they never came at me but it definitely affected how I played and how much fun I was having because I was constantly looking over my shoulder. When I brought this up at the end of my round with some workers inside, they said it was normal and that they have a nest around there.
I wonder what will happen when somebody eventually shows up with open wounds because the talons of the hawks actually got to a person?
I gave it two stars because it really was in good condition considering the lack of rain we have had this year and I was having a lot of fun! This probably could’ve been a four or five star review except for the last six holes I was tensed up the entire time, more worried about getting attacked by a hawk then I was about where my ball was going.
Very poor course conditions
Lots of weeds in the fairways and around the greens. Half the fairways are dead and have no grass the other half have debris and weeds throughout the fairway. Many of the greens have massive dead spots and splotches. Lots of Puddles and festering Casual water even during dry conditions , poor drainage. Massive amounts of trash on the course and especially around the tee boxes. It seems the groundskeeping staff does not care about this property, the poor conditions will definitely affect your play and get in the way of shooting a good score. do not waste your time or money.
Great course
Really enjoyed this beautifull course.. Pace of play was excellent and the staff were very accommodating. Not a difficult course, but sets up as a great round of golf!
You get what you pay for.
Best price for 18 in the area. Greens are actually in really good condition majority of the time. The fairways can be easily confused with the rough and even OB in some spots. It’s hard to complain with the price you get though.
