About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Great Time
This course is reviewed for what it is, a short course you can enjoy and move through quickly while still enjoying quality course conditions and some fun holes and unique challenges. The staff was very friendly and the pace of play was excellent. The greens were a bit long but in good condition otherwise and the course was very wet but it had just rained. This would be expected for off season golf, which could have also explained the fast pace of play

Just Green Repaired
Expected real improvement during the 4 months closure for renovat. So excited to play on second day of reopening to realize nothing was improved except the greens. Disappointed...I wonder if the course will remain one of my favorites..

Great value for your money. Greens got hit hard after the last freeze in Feb. Otherwise pretty good course.

Very nice layout…wonderful staff
First off, the course is about to go under massive reconstruction of tees and greens, so it wasn’t in great shape (but I knew that when I booked the round).
This is a very good layout with a variety of challenging holes. The pace of play was awesome. But what really sets this course apart from so many other options is the staff! Professional, courteous and helpful from the clubhouse personnel to the starters and the on course beverage carts. I could not have asked for a nicer and more helpful group of people.

Poor conditions throughout
This was my first time playing this course and I was not impressed. Greens and tee boxes were drier than New Mexico desert. Additionally, the tee boxes were obviously spray painted green and were like putting on brown concrete.

What a shame
I’ve played Oak Hollow in the past, and I loved it. I get they have renovations on the way, but to make people pay full price for a course that is in no way shape or form worth the money. The greens were completely dead and there was no stopping the ball on them. There was a group of 6 sent off in front of us that held up the course. The starter was pretty rude. Just much better places in DFW to go and give your money to.

Greens need work. Pace of play on front 9 was horrible, almost 3 hrs. Good course though.

Nice course for me since I just picked up golf about a year ago. Somewhat challenging but overall worth the $28.00 fee!!
