About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Great Place for a Round of Golf
My son and I played 18 holes and had a great time. We had a little rain so it was a little wet and muddy in some places but it was a great day!

Slowest round ever
Took almost 3 hours to play 9. Had to stop after 9 it was so bad. The starter allowed a 7-some to play in front of us (not kidding). Course conditions were okay for a public course.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Good fairways and greens despite the heat wave
The course is in really great shape considering the drought and heat wave.
My only pace of play complaint is the group in front of me decided to chat up the cart girl for 5 minutes after teeing off. She’s not interested guys, keep moving along…

Solid course and friendly staff
Played mid day during a heat wave so the course was dry. Can’t blame the course for that, greens were in good shape despite the heat and lack of rain. Staff helpful as usual. Pace of play always an issue but not any worse than any other public track here in DFW.

Last two times I played there the greens were extremely bumpy and fuzzy.

Course has very few bunkers
I like this course as its fairly open and has very few bunkers. You also get to use your driver pretty often. However hole 8 difficulty is a nightmare. All the greens were sandy when I played but I still enjoyed myself. Will be back.

You get what you pay for…
Cheap course with so-so amenities, mediocre course conditions as the greens were punched. The Pro shop staff was great as they gave me a discount for the punched greens. The starter on the other hand was a different story. I love how now a days no one can get a solo cart and they are always worried about the rush. The starter was unwelcoming, harsh and unapologetic about the groupings as he mixed up who was playing with whom. I would not recommend this course as they do not place any capital investments into the business. This is a very poor city run course. They should check out Pecan Hollow in Plano to see what a real course is.

Course wasn’t what I thought. It’s ok for the price but not what I like to play. You do get what you pay for in that the course is like a city municipal course.

This course is a great value
Great value for the cost. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The layout is not great but the course was in good condition.

You get what you pay for
One of the cheaper options around this area. The course marshall drove over to us multiple times while we were waiting on the group in front of us to move and told us we need to pick up the pace, while we were waiting on a group… how is that possible?
The course was in decent condition considering it had rained the day before. I’d like to play it again when it’s not as busy so I don’t get yelled at by the course marshall again.

Average course
I play at this course quite often as I live not far from.
This time counter guy asked to pay green fee even though paid prepaid, which I told him. Then I showed him prepaid email and he insisted what I paid was fee for GolfNow and asked $20 more!
I told him I played many times and never heard such rule (certain town owned course it does) then he checked again and apologized. Was it becoz of hot weather?
