About
After 50 years, the old 9-hole McKinney Municipal Golf Course shut down to make room for the new 18-hole championship layout now known as Oak Hollow. This new layout, designed by Maury Miller, opened in 1998, featuring rolling terrain that routes around six manmade lakes.
Miller’s design is particularly friendly from the middle tees, playing a fair 6,277 yards with several short par 3s and many average-length par 5s. The number one handicap is No. 15, a 423-yard par 4.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 75 north to Hwy. 380, then head east to Hwy. 5 (McDonald St.). The road veers and leads you 1 mile to the course.

Nice Course, Walkable
Reminds me of a lot of the county courses I played growing up in Wisconsin. Easily walkable, not a lot of obstacles so a nice course for a high handicapper like me. Greens in good shape, tee boxes need work, fairways fine. Worked well for us because few golfers due to the cold which made it easy for my daughter who is just taking up the game, no pressure from anyone behind us because of our play. Still, we completed the round in 4 hours and 15 minutes. Have heard it can get crowded on nice days, but for us it worked out well.

Pushed out tee time out almost 30 minutes because they didn’t have enough carts. Somehow lost the tee time for the third in our threesome and were very rude in the pro shop about it, so then they send us out as a fivesome paired up with two other old men probably 25+ handicap. The pace of place was horrendous, I don’t think there was a single hole we didn’t wait and struggled to finish 18 with a 12:10 tee time. Ridiculous!
