Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Golfer Reviews
Great Muni
Played here for the first time as a single added to a threesome of very laid back gentlemen. Carts and Walkers. Start was a little late but the folks were so chill. Helps that the threesome were regulars… so had great tips on ball placement and I think I’d have made new friends if not for not being local!
A few dog legs which were challenging and fun, par threes with character and even a 200+ yard par 3 which was great!
Would definitely play here again!
Golf course and the people working there and the area was all great but one of my partners was sick. It wasn’t able to make it to the course. I was told by the front desk that I had to come back to golf now and get a credit or a refund for the one person since I was reserved online which that is turning out to be a nightmare, but I would go there again but I just need to make sure that I could get credit on this game that I played paid for and didn’t use a credit would be fine cause I’m sure I’ll go there again cause it was a nice course

I have been playing here for about 2 years regularly. I have always enjoyed this track over that time. Over the last 6 months there has been a management change and conditions now are better than ever. That has been a lot of improvements to the course, along with more offerings in the pro shop and concessions. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a nice course with some of the best greens in DFW!
Best public greens in the DFW area
Excellent course that never disappoints. Always in good shape. The condition of the putting greens are always the best of all public munis I’ve seen in the DFW area.
Decent course for the price. A couple pretty tough holes and tight driving on many holes. Fairways and rough areas a little mix/match. Super friendly staff and pace of play was great, finished under 4 hours on a Saturday morning.
Challenging course, friendly staff
First time playing this course. Staff was friendly, gave some advice on 1st hole and 16th par 5 hole. Lost quite a few golf balls, but I'm not very good. There is a lot of thick brushy/woods and water on the course. Some holes were narrow to navigate through. Course was pretty wet after lots of rain the previous 2 days, but the greens were in good shape from maintenance poking holes in the greens. Greens were challenging, as well - lots of undulations on the greens for challenging putts. One hole looked like the course designer had fun with a bull dozer and created moguls in front of the green.
Best greens in DFW for under $50
In my opinion, I havent found better greens for this price. They are fast and roll true. They are a bit hard to get the ball to check and they have a lot of slope, so putting is very challenging. The rest of the course is not bad and is always a fun challenge. Their summer afternoon special for $26 is impossible to beat.
