Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Excellent value, superb greens, challenging layout
First time playing Mesquite. The high praise is warranted. Greens are in GREAT shape. Firm, fast, plenty of slope. Played from the Gold tees which required a good mix of tee shots throughout the round. Par 3s are longer and challenging, and even the Par 5s can be tricky off the tee. Pace of play was excellent and the range and carts were in good shape. Only slightly negative, is that the putting green is currently under repair, which would have been nice given the pace of the greens. Doesn't take away from the round at all, highly recommend!
Great golf at reasonable price.
Always enjoy playing this course. Its become my primary course due to proximity and price. Staff is very friendly and course is in great condition.
Amazing value
Excellent greens, fun layout, managed well. Not much more you can ask for.
Improvement
I have a lot of history with Mesquite, I will always give the good with the bad..... I am seeing improvement as it relates to the staff. The new hires are a perfect fit for the course. I am sure this is a direct reflection of efforts made to provide a better experience. It's working, allowing the new staff you use professional judgment when necessary is evident. Great experience.
Great course, kept up with and staff is nice
Love playing here, worth the price. The course is taken care of and the staff are nice. Food and beer is good value
Great staff and layout, I would say it’s overpriced but hopefully it’s going to updating the place.
Seems like they got the necessities of a golf course, opened up and haven’t updated since.
Great course
Played over Memorial Day weekend and course was well kept. Can’t wait to play again.
Greens are awesome
Greens are in awesome shape for this time of year. We have played several courses recently and greens have been ok some horrific.
Bridge and Greens
For the first time ever playing Mesquite I was disappointed with the greens they were super slow as compared to usual when they are fast to very fast. The bridge was washed out on 17 so 10 was a par 3 and 11 was a par 4. Bummed for the course!
Good Filler Course
I found this theu GN app and it was a hot deal, the staff absolutely fantastic, friendly, supportive and the course was good. Biggest pain point is that it rained 2.5/3 days ago and there were sections that were still muddy. Greens were nice, fairway less than. A mix of walkers and carts, will keep you at a strong pace.
