Mesquite Golf Course

About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Great course, kept up with and staff is nice
Love playing here, worth the price. The course is taken care of and the staff are nice. Food and beer is good value
Great staff and layout, I would say it’s overpriced but hopefully it’s going to updating the place.
Seems like they got the necessities of a golf course, opened up and haven’t updated since.
Great course
Played over Memorial Day weekend and course was well kept. Can’t wait to play again.
Greens are awesome
Greens are in awesome shape for this time of year. We have played several courses recently and greens have been ok some horrific.
Bridge and Greens
For the first time ever playing Mesquite I was disappointed with the greens they were super slow as compared to usual when they are fast to very fast. The bridge was washed out on 17 so 10 was a par 3 and 11 was a par 4. Bummed for the course!
Good Filler Course
I found this theu GN app and it was a hot deal, the staff absolutely fantastic, friendly, supportive and the course was good. Biggest pain point is that it rained 2.5/3 days ago and there were sections that were still muddy. Greens were nice, fairway less than. A mix of walkers and carts, will keep you at a strong pace.
Tee time costs have gotten out of control
The course was in poor condition. It’s under construction, but nobody told us that, until we got to the back 9. The sand bunkers were more clay than sand, there are fire ant hills EVERYWHERE, the clubhouse is trapped in the 90’s, there wasn’t a cart girl working. This course reminds me if Plantation(Frisco Farms) in terms of value. It’s more of a Keaton/Tenison kind of course. No way it should have cost $40 in the middle of the week.
Greens
The greens were slower than usual. I know it was because we had recently gotten a lot of rain but when your used to faster greens it’s hard to get yourself in the mindset of mashing a put
Course under maintenance
They had to re route and shorten a couple of holes (10 and 11), because of maintenance. It was disappointed to see charging full rate in this situation. I would expect them to take a couple more weeks to complete the work (they didn’t say), so perhaps I’ll play somewhere else for a while. The course is nice but it was in bad shape in general with very high rough and bunker sad was bad too.
Fairways could use some fertilizer. Also need to repair several water leaks around the tee boxes. Tee boxes need sand and leveling. The final suggestion would be to install ball washers on the golf carts. The ball washers on the tee boxes now are never full water and soap and brishes are worn out.
