Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Best Greens in NTX. Everything else, Not so much..
Nice layout from any tee. Greens are perfect! The tee boxes and fairways are abysmal. No GPS in the carts. Pro Shop staff are very nice. Marshals are cool. Bar/Grill staff very nice. No Bev Cart. Will come back again in early June before the Texas blast furnace scorches the grounds.
Good Course and a Good Weather!
The course was in pretty good shape considering all the rain the weekend prior. The greens were in great shape as usual. I didn’t enjoy the cart path only for the entire round, but I understand the reasoning. Overall, I enjoyed playing at Mesquite Golf Course. I’ll be back again.
Inconsiderate
There was a basic discrepancy related to my tee time. I was told at 2:35 that there system suggested my tee time was 2:40 and I was asked to hurry to the tee box, yet I had conformation that my tee time was 2:50 and my playing partner had not arrived yet. When I showed my confirmation to the attendee, he made the stateman." I don't care about what you have". My system shows me 2:40. I thought it was pretty inconsiderate to make the statement "I don't care about what you have" and that's what I thought it was an offensive statement. Though I usually get along with this particular staff member, I strongly believe he and I can agree that this was a poor choice of words. He did put in writing for me that he could not honor my 2:50 tee time. We had to make other arrangements.
Great Greens
I play here often. Course is challenging with some tough par 3’. Greens are always among the best n DFW.
Fast greens
Super fast greens. Be careful not to hit too hard because it will keep rolling. Played here a few times. Great value for the money. Pace was good for being busy. 4 1/2 hour round. And there was some walkers airhead of us. Guys in the pro shop were super nice and helpful. No gps in the carts and no cart girls with drinks. Overall a good course.
Great Muni Course- Amazing Value
I’ve played Mesquite twice now and am very impressed for it being a Muni course. The course has been in good condition both times, and the greens were great. I believe this is one of the best value courses in DFW.
Fast greens tight course
The course is in pretty good shape for the drought we’ve had the greens are super fast and hilly the course is pretty tight but overall a good place to play
Great Experience
Great experience, new staff makes a big difference.
Course of the year 2014
Last time I played this course I think it was 2014. Nice conditions for very latefall, especially the greens. Played the forward tees. Shot even par. 80 degrees. Whaddaday.
Great course
This course was awesome great layout, with some fun challenges! Would definitely play again. Greens were nice and fairways were nice!
Fast greens
Nice course for the money. Super fast greens. Good pace. For the money it’s great.
One of my favorite courses in the DFW metroplex
Course stays consistent, is in great shape 90% of the time and never had a slow pace of play.
