About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.

Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Fairways could use some fertilizer. Also need to repair several water leaks around the tee boxes. Tee boxes need sand and leveling. The final suggestion would be to install ball washers on the golf carts. The ball washers on the tee boxes now are never full water and soap and brishes are worn out.
Bring your best shot first at Mesquite!
Good course & friendly staff. Drive on 1st tee a bit daunting for seniors. Guess I should have laid up but liked it better when that hole was #10.

Overall good course to play. Greens were in good condition.

Why is there still piles of dead wood on course?
The city of Mesquite made a huge mistake by not trimming many of the beautiful old majestic trees that were then killed by the severe windstorm 18 months ago. To compound the issue, there are still dead trees, deadwood on many parts of the course which is an inexcusable. The fairways today were rockhard, as were the areas around the green partially do the fact that they never punch the fairways. And now there’s many less trees. This course will continue to bake and deteriorate in the hot weather coming. What was once a nice course is now mediocre. The city needs a recognize that this is worth saving and put more money into it and plant new trees and punch the grains and get rid of all the weeds on the fairways.
No real fairways
Interesting and fun layout, but there are no real fairways. It’s just weeds mowed short. Front nine hadn’t been mowed in a while.
Greens where interesting.
Over priced even w/senior discount.
I play 2 or 3 times a week at several different courses. Played here due to being in the area for business. You needed a mallet to get your tee in the ground, hardly to no grass. Carts were available but told not to load up before 10 min till tee time. Had courteous cart to go get clubs, unload and wait.
The Nasty Staffs
The staffs are so unfriendly, rude and nasty. We were 7 of us and we all felt so bad. We all felt them as discriminating us.
the good quality of the greens makes Mesquite Golf Club a gem!
