About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.

Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

OK Course But Change the Greens
I thought the staff was efficient and pacing was good. The course had typical winter fairways for Texas, not exactly lush and green. The real problem is the greens. The Marshal warned that they were "fast". That is not an accurate description, They are all SLOPED from back to front. If you hit past the pin, you'd better take dead aim on the way down. If your ball doesn't drop into the cup, there is no stopping it. I like the challenge of reading an undulating green. These were not challenging, they were just plain poorly laid out. This could be remedied and the course would be much more enjoyable.
Nice Muni but course marshall needs to...
...do a better job of keeping the idiot golfers away from the greens and ON the cart paths. Listen golfers - park your cart ON the cart paths, DO NOT pull OFF the path by the greens and kill the grass so you can take 3 less steps or make room for an imaginary beverage cartto pass by.
Good course, not too long, nice mix of wide and narrow fairways and elevation changes. Nice rolling greens.
Great value for the money
This round was a great value for the price. The quality of the course was great for a municipal course. My only complaint was we got stuck behind a 5-some. If the course had a marshal driving the course that may have told them to speed up or let us play through.
Greens are really , really fast
Course was in great shape & greens were lightning fast compared to previous golf outing around the city.

Go here for the greens! Fast, sloping, true rolls, fun all around. The rest of the course is average. Easy walking course. Great for locals.

This is a fun layout. Greens are challenging with speed and slope, and are in great shape.
I played right after 3 days of rain so it was cart path only. But course was still in really good shape all things considered and greens were smooth as usual.
Great, friendly service in the pro shop.
This is one of my favorite courses in the DFW area.
