Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Favorite N TX muni
Greens are fast and true. Challenging layout without eating every errant ball in my bag. Beautiful course and well maintained.
... but its all about the greens ...
Excellent conditions, fairways are a bit tight but playable ... but its all about the greens ... hard, fast, lots of undulations made approach shots & putting challenging - the starter said they were running about a 12, seemed about right. Still enjoyed the round and will definitely play again.
Well maintained course
Friendly staff and well organized and maintained course. Will return soon.
Best greens in DFW great fairways bouncy and fam lightning fast greens
NASCAR Would Be Proud
Mesquite is one of the best courses in DFW for the average duffer. The greens right now are FAST, and smooth. Fairways are in good shape as well.
Hidden Gem in DFW
For the price, you cannot get any better. Best bang for your buck if you go in the afternoons. Greens are super smooth. They are fast but you get a true roll. Theres a handful of holes that require a perfect tee shot Which can be tough but also very satisfying when you hit a good one.
Fun course
Course was in good shape. Greens rolled great but were screaming fast. Will definitely go back.
Great Course
Really enjoyed playing this course. The only knock is playing in the Texas heat and no water on the course. They should have a cart come around the course.
Great day for golf
This was the second time I have played here. The first time was a year ago. I thought the course was in very good shape. I really like the layout of the course. The greens were very fast, and had a little sand on them, but still no problem for putting. The day I played, there was supposed to be a foursome, but it was just me and another gentleman and we played at a great pace and never caught up with anyone. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Back again
First time back in over twenty years, I was overjoyed with the course, I highly recommend!
Billing
I can’t access chat. It tells me I have anther active browser. So I can’t communicate with GN. Would someone at GN please phone so I can continue with GN. Thanks
Great time. Great people.
Course is in great shape, Staff was great, greens roll fast and true. Price made it well worth it!
Mesquite Muni
Felt safe , they had proper social distancing in place. 6 feet apart, 1 person per cart. Will go back.
Fun day
This was my first trip to this course. Glad I finally drove 45 minutes to play this track. Loved the layout specially the front 9. The back 9 was a little slow, guessing cause of the par 3's. There is 3 of them and they seem to slow the pace down a bit.
The only thing I can say negative about my round today is the tee boxes could use some water. They were a little dry and hard to stick your tee in the ground, but the rest of the course was in very good condition, specially the fairways.
Overall I would recommend this course, but the pace of play on the weekends i could see to be very slow, but on a Thursday i played 21 holes in just over 3 hours.
