Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Great hole diversity
A couple of tough par 3 holes, and one unique par 5.
Great golf for your $$$
Played Mesquite GC for 2nd time & it is just an awesome track. Great value after 2pm -$25 & the course is in tremendous shape. Greens are fast as advertised but fair. I had read previous reviews about it & the majority is correct —this course is one of the best in Dallas overall. I’ll be punching back in every 2 or 3 weeks as I live in Mckinney . It’s worth the drive !!
Check it out if you can.
Best deal in town
Amazing amazing amazing. This is the best kept secret in town ! Can’t say enough how great the greens are !
Too Much SAND on Greens
fun track. But the overly aggressive sanding of the greens diminished the quality of the course that day. The sand is not fine Florida gulf coast size grains but really course stuff that affects putts.
Greens
mesquite has come a long ways it is a fantastic golf course with the fastest nicest greens in the dfw area very under rated course worth the play.
Slow play
Got kicked off course for skipping hole because of slow play from partners who suggested I go on without them. Marshall accused me of driving cart on green which was a lie. Then told me to leave unless I rejoined original group.
Fastest greens around
Course was in great shape and the greens were beautiful. These were the slickest greens I’ve played, and the greens were far from flat. Good test of golf, only complaint is that friendliness I guess isn’t a thing in mesquite..
Mesquite god club
Nice layout. Green are great and very quick. Best in metro munis.
Best greens I've played this summer.
Course was in great shape. The greens were lightning fast. It was fun to put on such quick greens. Tons of fun.
Can’t beat this value
After 4pm this course is $9 for 9 holes. You won’t find a better price anywhere. On top of the price, the course is well kept and always in great shape with very fast and challenging greens.
Play here, they have Marshals on course.
Conditions were great, greens were probably the best in Dallas right now. And they have a marshal keeping pace. He’s a butt kicker and will make your round worthwhile
Great course. Terrible experience.
My wife and I have played this course dozens of times over the last year and a half, and usually have a great time. If you want to have an enjoyable, drama-free round, do your best to avoid Billy in the pro shop. If your spouse rides with you, be prepared to be harassed by him at some point during the round. If you can avoid him, you’ll enjoy playing one of the best municipal courses in the metroplex with awesome greens.
Only complaint is that on every green the hole is on a slope and the greens are extremely fast. You will be 3 putting more than normal.
